Puppy Handling Exercise | ft. Brixton the Airedale Terrier

In this video, we will be showing you a 5 mins exercise that can get your puppies, especially if they are between 8-16 weeks old, prepared for being touched by groomers, vets, or you, if you want to trim their nails yourself, for example.
These exercises won’t take a lot of your time, but they go a long way in helping your puppy understand that it’s okay for people to touch their belly, their paws, their ears, anywhere really, and our goal is not just to get rid of the flinching, but also to convince them this can actually be rewarding for them!
Also, we will be talking a bit about puppy biting, as it is likely to happen when you handle your puppy. As Martin likes to say, it’s super-natural.

I have had six Airedales over the years. We were fortunate that most of them were mild mannered. The funny thing is that they would throw major temper tantrums during obedience training…..One of the dogs at 11 months would climb the fence and go for walks around the neighborhood. I would get calls from the neighbors that he was wandering the neighborhoods. It generated some concern because Airdales can be menacing and do have a tendency to engage in bullying if they sense fear…….the only problem was that I would look out in my back yard and the dog would be laying in the grass…….about a week later I saw him climbing the fence back into the yard..
