Excellent! Thank you! do you have any insulation between the box and the heat lamp? Doesn't it get too hot and danger of melting?
@kai-aralhasaapsos28173 жыл бұрын
Ours does not get hot enough to melt. Most likely because of the fan behind it.

question if the fan is continuously on how does the incubator maintain temp and humidity?
@kai-aralhasaapsos28172 жыл бұрын
It's a very low fan more like circulation. It maintains however through turning on and off the heat and humidity. If it's not reaching it then you'd want to turn off the fan.

How do you maintain a consistent temperature with the fan on?
@meregildojrsagrero-tamayo99532 жыл бұрын
It feels like it takes for ever to get to the right temperature/humidity level with the fan running at the same time. Is the fan suppose to run all the time?
@kai-aralhasaapsos28172 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for the question. It could be that it's not needed in your environment. Also, having 1 puppy verses 4, etc. Will make a difference due to body warmth. With a singleton or smaller litter in a cooler environment you may not need it at all.

@@kai-aralhasaapsos2817 thank you for the prompt response. I just put the box together yesterday and was trying to test everything before our liter arrives 🙂
@kai-aralhasaapsos28172 жыл бұрын
@@meregildojrsagrero-tamayo9953 oh yes, definitely without puppies it will take a while. And with a singleton you can also just turn it off. Remember the alarms will let you know if the environment is not correct. Just make sure you've set them. And congrats on your soon to be litter!

I haven’t been about to get mine above 45% Also humidifier tends to puddle up water in the incubator
@kai-aralhasaapsos28172 жыл бұрын
If you're using the same humidifier it helps to lower the humidifier some (physically - put it on a lower table) and make sure the tubing is not bent at the top allowing puddling of drops. The drops that collect should be able to fall back into the unit rather than the incubator. You likely only need to lower it. And depending on how you handled the X shaped filter above the door, you could add a damp towel lain over it there also. I ended up taking that black filter out, cutting the grid out and putting a plexiglass/acrylic sheet there to see through, which also helps keep moisture from escaping.

The plastic piece around the oxygen tube connector..What did you use there? Just looking for a way to keep it sealed in place 😁
@kai-aralhasaapsos28172 жыл бұрын
Hi Leisha, Great question! I used a round clear plastic that was actually part of the packaging for one of the items and just cut a hole in it then put alien tape on the incubator side. It's that tape that is soft and thick and incredibly sticky yet removable. It doesn't have to fully seal, just stay in place is all. Any similar clear double sided tape would work.

How did you get the humidifier control Device inside of the incubator that’s on the back wall
@kai-aralhasaapsos28172 жыл бұрын
The probe is the only part which is inside and the actual control device hangs on the outside by sleeving over two screws.

Hi your fan its always on ? The air blow inside or outside ?
@kai-aralhasaapsos28172 жыл бұрын
I have it blowing outward so it's just a circulation device

Thank you so much for the video. I made it. Is the fan blowing into the unit or outside?
@kai-aralhasaapsos28172 жыл бұрын
Really good question! It is blowing out. It's only needed to keep a small circulation going. Blowing inward would be too much.

I can try to get one made here soon, sure. The steps though, in the mean time. Hold the Inkbird outlet up to the unit where you want to secure it and mark position for holes. Screw in 2 screws but not all the way and hang the regulator on these screws. Hold the grid portion of the fan to the back of the litter box in back and rough outline where to cut the hole and placement of screw holes. I used a box cutter to twist out the screw hole areas and then cut the circle for the fan. I cut the circle a little smaller than the fan circumference. Hold the lamp to the top of the unit and rough outline where to cut the lamp hole. Cut it smaller then your outline as you can always enlarge but not make smaller. I placed the bedding inside that I wanted to use so I could find an area in the back middle to bring in the oxygen nearest to the puppies (about 3/4" above the bedding). I then held the temperature gauge and humidity gauges up and marked where to drill (LOL...with my box cutter twist hand drill) and screwed in these two probes. The manual thermometer above it was self sticking. In the top right backside I drilled a hole for the humidifier tube. This hole needs to be high as the humidifier works best when it's well below the tubing, which should have a nice steep angle down toward the humidifier itself. I traced the vent hole and cut it smaller and worked on it slowly taking out tiny amounts until it fit. I've also added a light inside now which is one made for ceramic decorative christmas village houses. It was perfect because they have a little pinch clip to keep them in the houses which worked perfect for holding in the incubator wall. I also put a tiny piece of velcro tape at the base of the swinging door so that it doesn't gape open. It just rests nicely there on it's own now and still opens easy. And lastly I also removed the black filter on the top and cut out that grate entirely and screwed in a square of plexi-glass sheeting instead so it's easier to peek in. The hubby had to drill holes in the plexi glass and the box for that.
