Our little Percy has just had his first birthday last week. He is the best dog in the whole world and has such a lovely nature. He has never chewed anything in our house or office. He has his own little basket of toys (which we had to weekly - old lemonade bottles, old socks) He puts himself to bed at 8.30 every night and sleep all the way through. We couldn't wish for a better dog. We love him to bits x

We once found a little black lab puppy shivering in the rain outside our house, we took him in and for the next 6 months he became the light of our lives until one day someone stole him and we never saw him again. Keep your doggy close and keep him safe. I often watch this video and Percy reminds me of him.

Awww.....Labs are such amazing dogs! I remember bringing my black lab home at 6 weeks old. He was a holy terror & tore up EVERYTHING! I literally thought he had ADHD or that something was wrong with him. My vet said....give it about 3-4 yrs & he will be the best dog you ever had. He was so right! He's laying right here next to me 10 years later 🤗

You can't help but love 'em. They are just so good natured and never meets a stranger. Can be intimidated by older dogs in the family. Bowtie outweighs him by about 55 lbs. and he's still whimpers and won't walk by him.

Hi there! thank you for your comment. It is a big worry when our pets have problems so I feel your pain. Our little puppy Percy is now 9 years old too! He also had to have surgery (on both his front elbows!) is the best thing we have ever done, he is like new now! we also give him Glucosamine Tablets which are miracle workers (But you must allow a few months before they feel the benefits) he has been taking them for over a year now and he has never limped since. As a guy who shot (photographically) dogs for many years I have to say you have your hands full here. When outside always do your best to get the sun behind you or you will always fight exposure. Solid black dogs are the most difficult subjects. You’re very fortunate to have such an adorable pup and obviously dedicated as well to being great doggie parents. Cute puppy, I have 2 chocolate labs as well, BEST dogs ever. Word of friendly advice: since labs are subject to hip dysplasia, I would gets runners for your floors to stop the splitting of the dogs rear legs. Understandably that carpets are gross and ugly, but at least runners for the main traffic area while he is growing to minimize problems later.

Percy seems to be a cool pooch with a good home. I had a black lab named Jasmine for many years. I had to say goodbye to her not long ago. I miss that spoiled mess...but you understand that's part of process when you have pets.

Mine is now 4 years old, still plays like Percy, hasn't realized he about 65 pounds. His best 'achievement' is to eat an entire pair of steel toed boots except for the steel toe, steel shank, and three nails from the heel (he got the other 8 or so). His nest (hiding spot where we cannot 'see' him) is under the two foot high coffee table. If you cannot find something even remotely digestible look under there first! LOL
