It's exciting that I found this video! Back in 2007 I developed a distro of Puppy specifically for my aging Aunt who isn't very familiar with computers. She was able to do daily tasks with my puppy distro! It's very cool that other people have the same idea.

Very helpful! At the age of 75, I missed out on programming at the university. And I don't want to buy new computers every 5th or 10th year. Neat idea with the site, I'll check it closer. Thanks a lot!

I have puppy installed on an old laptop and it runs great and so easy to recover if something goes wrong...i made a copy of the savefile to an external device and restore the copy if it goes wrong...i always use the portable firefox running in the mnt directory which excludes it from the savefile.

Like puppy, the latest antiX-23_x64-full is also overwhelming. The antiX-23_x64-base version is much easier on the brain but still likely a touch heavy for noobs to linux. If you could do a deep dive (or dives) into antiX - which has much better with more modern aesthetics than 'puppy' - then it would be fantastic! As you probably know, antiX it is really light weight - about 270Mb on installation. Given MS over this coming year by various ways, will force Win11 onto most ordinary users computers will likely cause problems for many users if they don't have at least an Intel 8th Gen (or AMD equivalent) CPU, making antiX will a great alternative. I put it on a 2008/9 Dual core, 4Gb laptop the other day and it was highly rejuvenating. It would be very useful as an intro to linux for many people with an old pre-Gen 7 CPU computer lying around. MX-linux (the subject of your latest video) draws upon antiX. OK. Thanks for these videos.

The Antix and MX Linux I believe share some things. I will put that antix video on my radar as a possible project. Also on the subject of Windows 11 , yes I agree if MS wants to push a thing, like bloated hardware , that is going create a need for upgrading hardware ie a new computer , and now days some can not afford new stuff, due to inflation as a real show stopper. I think you are on the right path of thought, as far as some will switch to Linux, just because of not being able to afford these new computers. Anyway Thanks for your comments and kind words. But i can't hear sound in puppy Linux, idk what to do (even KZbin videos are mute in full volume). I just switched to puppy from mint. Can anyone help me?

So puppy is a light weight Linux distribution, if you switched from Mint was this Cinnamon or maybe Xfce or another flavor, mint is usually good with sound. Now with puppy you will have to find your sound settings and check those, since you did not mention if you are using HDMI connected monitor sound or separate speaker , how is sound device connected, look for those options in puppy sounds, in mint sound and also software like pavo sound control is a software that can switch ports, I have not looked at puppy settings in a while, but hopefully some of these suggestions will help. You neglected Puppy's most important feature, security. Burned to CD and run in RAM, Puppy is hackerproof, provided you don't do something stupid while in it. No priviledge escalation possible running as root, most secure OS you ccan get, even NSA can't hack it.
