PUPPY SCARED OF THE GROOMERS: Cockapoo's grooming experience - part 1

In this video I talk through Millie's experience of visiting a groomers, from her first visit at 18 weeks old to her latest visit at 35 weeks old. Hopefully you will learn from my mistakes by watching this video.
Some of you may already know us through our Instagram page @millieacockapoo however I have decided to start a KZbin channel to share my advice and experience of being a first time, single dog parent.
Millie is an F1 Cockapoo, her mother is a Cocker Spaniel and her father a Miniature Poodle.

Awww sweet baby. Marnie doesn't love the groomers either. Once when I picked her up, she hugged my neck for like 20 minutes before I could get her in her carseat and drive home

Hopefully Marnie will get used to the groomers as she gets older (that’s what I’m hoping for Millie) but it is adorable that she hugged you for so long 🥰

Omg 😮 our dog as just started going and she hates it! She’s only 16 weeks so hope she starts to like it as she’s always going to have to go!

Just try and desensitise her as much as possible, and introduce her gradually to the groomers, so you don't end up in the same situation as me. Fingers crossed she gets used to it soon.

I took mine days before the appointment, it’s in a busy avenue so I wanted her to be used to the area. Got ice cream and stood outside for a while. It helped. But yeah, I wouldn’t take her back to that place if she’s that unhappy, must be a reason.

We’ve had a couple of drop in visits at a new groomers now, where we have just sat in the reception and she’s wandered around the grooming stations to get her used to it.
