I watched this video a long time ago. I liked it so much I just wanted to watch it again. I knew that there was something special about Elvis besides his beautiful looks and glorious voice. I am also a dog lover. They give us all unconditional love. If people loved like dogs it would be a much better world. It is always great to hear from family of Elvis. Just knowing that you all were actually there sharing all of these wonderful times with him. So everyone got puppies from Elvis whether they wanted them or not. I mean how could anyone refuse a cute little puppy from Elvis Presley. I think like Jo, Elvis didn't want to leave them in the cages. What a beautiful soul Elvis had, and what a special family he had around him. You all are great. Take care. God Bless.

what a sweet video. I have been watching Elvis videos. My ex who left me would always ask me where I would like to go on vacation and I would say Graceland but he never took me. I was one generation later from Elvis but my brothers listened to him and I grew up with him. I feel he is part of my family. We live in MS. I lost my eldest brother in a car wreck in 84. He really was just like Elvis. The good die young.

Wow, as a kid, I went to visit my uncle in Oxford, MS. We drove up to Memphis to visit Graceland. We spent a few hours at the gates of Graceland hoping to see Elvis. The guard told us that Elvis usually leaves in the late afternoon. So, we went to have lunch in anticipation of coming back to Graceland in the afternoon. We also went to Southland Mall and just happen to go into the pet shop. The people at the shop told us that Elvis had been in about a week before. He came in after closing hours to buy Lisa Marie a puppy and ended up buying many more. We then returned to Graceland and stood at the gates for several hours and were able to see Lisa Marie and one of her friends being driven out of Graceland. Latter we saw Elvis coming out of the side entrance driving a white Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. I think that this was the Summer of 74 or 75. I was exited to hear you tell the story of the puppies that I had heard from the pet shop people. Also, the guard at Graceland gave us remnants of carpet being installed at Graceland. Years latter when I toured Graceland, I saw that one of the remnants matched the carpet in the kitchen. The other remnant was red shag, and I don't know from which part of the house.

More than anything, I love these stories you folks share. I loved Elvis so much. It's good to hear these little anecdotes of Elvis with family members. To this day I cry every time I hear "You gave me a mountain" or "Trilogy" . I really cry when I hear the loneliness in his voice ane sadness in his eyes. He never got what he was searching for. God, I miss him so.

Hahaha , I would have loved to have seen that. Don't Make daddy shoot you ! Oh my goodness !!! I bet Linda Thompson was giving him a look . I would have too , but I'm sure he was just kidding. I love dogs too . Someone gave us a Dalmatian that was about 7 months old and they had named him Elvis , because he would snurl his lip up . lol ! He was the sweetest dog and we had him until he was 15 years old , but he had gotten old and blind . I let him out one night to go to the bathroom and he got out in the road and got ran over. That like to have killed me , because I blamed myself for not staying out there with him , but my son and his friends were out there with him and they came running in and told us . It didn't kill him , so my husband had to take care of it and I screamed and cried all night . Now we have a blood hound that my son brought home when she was only 5 weeks old . She ended up being my dog , after about a week . I knew that was going to happen . My son knew I would be a sucker because she was just a baby . Now she looks like a horse . lol !! Thank y'all for sharing your great stories !! Love y'all !!!

Thank you for brightening my day.. I love dogs too.. Had a Japanese chin called Buttercup and my sons dog valled Teddy but I called him Teddy Bear.. They are in Dog Heaven now. I do miss them .. My son is a wounded warrior and needs a Greman Shepherd Therapy Dog for love and protection once he finishes treatment for PTSD.. I hope he gets it.. My son used to impersonate Elvis and performed at Graceland with Bruno Mars in 1995.. Dick Grob saw him and Patsy Anderson named him "Little E" but my ex took him and shaved his head and told him Elvis was gay.. can you believe that? My ex hated Elvis part of why he is my ex..hahaha a small part.. I had to laugh when he told my son that I married him because he ,looked like Elvis.. I laughed so hard I nearly had an accident.. I said" In His Dreams" plus he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.. hahaha Believe me I saw Elvis perform in Lake Tahoe.. Flew in to train Las Vegas Showgirls on A Bac-111 that was bought from the airline I worked for.. Do you remember a Capt Bob Parkes who flew that plane which was later impounded? I was subpoened over that silly plane by the FAA. S vared me to death..haha that was back in 1973 Mothers day weekend in Tahoe.. I sat center table , 3 seats from the stage and he gave me a red scarf.. Even went backstage with I thought Richard Davis but ny old callendar says Sam Thompson I met and the band leaderstarts with a G.. anyway whoever took me backstage and was showing me the jewelry and costumes.. scared me . Something he said frightened me . All I know is the Holy spirit or my gut said get out of here ..get out of here now.. so I told the guy I changed my mind I did not want to meet Elvis.. He tried to block the door..saying you can't leave now and I said get out of my way.. if you don't move I will strat screaming right now. He looked at me and I looked at him and I walked ouy. My thoughts were this guy was gonna hurt me or rape me and I wanted out of there.. I know that sounds crazy but I was alone and I trust that inner voice.. There is more to the story because Elvis was sick that night and so was I., I am not a drinker but apparently I was given something in a drink because I don't recall much other than throwing up in my hotel room violently and finally going to sleep.. Then the phone rang and Bob said Elvis was sick and they wanted me to go with them to fly him to Memphis.. I remember thinking if he feels like I do he does not want some stranger looking at him.. And he had been white as a ghost the night I saw him whike the night previous he looked fine.. He was bloated but I was praying for him and he got stronger as the performnce went on..at any rate I digress.. I di not tell Bob I was sick but I declined to go assuming Dr Nick would be with him.. Bob kept saying we want you to come but never said who we was.. I had no idea that Vernon or Elvis were connected with Jet Travel.. I had no knowwledge of anything that Elvis was connected with..I thought I was being respectful of Elvis by not being some gawking fan.. Boy was I wrong..Took me years to figure things out.. I almost met him just as my dad said I wou,ld.. I just wanted to meet him as a real person . I did not want his fame or fortune.. I wanted to be his friend and i FAILED HIM..Carried guilt for years when I discovered he needed oxygen and the Showgirls could not get it going and Bob had to leave the cockpit to do that and that they had to land in LAX and take him to a hospital.. I never got to explain to anyone why I did not go or how sick I also was...Instead Bob called me and told me I could find my own way back home.. Which I did..I used my airline passes and Id to fly back to Dallas.. I had no phone number for Bob and I never heard from them again. At least I can say I never took anything from Elvis except a hotel room even though I was told I could but anything I wanted.. I thought that was bizarre. I used my own money I did sign for food but that was all. I had my own clothes.. I din't need a thing..I will say this once I felt the charisma of Elvis ..no other man could ever measure up. So I never married and rarely dated till long after Elvis died. I love your memories and your sharing a wonderful part of him.. Thank you so much.. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! God bless your family . and Keep on Living Elvis..hugs t

Elvis died in 1977. That’s when he DIED. All of his accomplishments and life experiences came between 1935 and 1977. Yet, here in the 21st century, the year 2018, people are still interested in every nuance of Elvis’ activities. If someone once met him, there are many thousands of people, some fans and some not, who desire to know about every detail of that brief meeting. This is the second video that I’ve watched on this one trip Elvis took to the pet store! I’m busy. I have things to do, yet, this seems important. It is a bit entertaining. Elvis is like historic figures such as Davy Crockett. Take the famous lawmen, or criminals, or cowboys of the old west. They are the same. You have the true story of a dynamic man, his great accomplishments and interesting life, and you also have the myth, the legend. With that you have millions of fans. Look, three films were recently made on Churchill. One was mostly fiction! Churchill is admired for his great work during WWII. He died in 1965. Here we are over 50 years since his death and there remains great interest in the man, and the myth! Like those figures, Elvis will, apparently, go on throughout the future! If this society is still around in 100 years, the common folk will know something about who Elvis was.

Thank you for the video. I wish you would have shown pictures of Getlow and the rest of the puppies but especially Getlow. I found out 2 or 3 weeks ago that Elvis had a Chow on a Facebook page and I just saw spa guy's video on Elvis puppy shopping a few minutes ago and he told everyone to come and watch your video first. Spa guy showed some pictures of Getlow. I was so excited to find out that Elvis had a Chow because I had 2 Chows named Sammy and Oliver. They are in my profile picture. I had to take a picture with my cell phone of the original picture. I didn't have a cell than. Sammy is the black one and Ollie is the red one. Sam is Oliver's mother. I lost Sammy in April 2001 and Ollie in November 2003. To this day people still ask me about them. Friends, family, neighbors, acquaintances still talk about Sam and Ollie. They were quite the characters. I thought they'd live forever. They were my favorite dogs. They were everyone's favorite dogs. I miss them every single day. It's so cool that Elvis had a red Chow like mine or that I had a red Chow like his lol since he came first. I got Sam when she was 1 and 3 quarter years old and she was already named Sammy Spade and my friend wanted me to name Ollie, Oliver when he was born because her grandson had just finished reading Oliver Twist so that's how they got their names. When they were gone, I got Dakota from the Humane Society and when he was gone along came Sasha from the same place. The last 2 were German shepherd lab mix. To this day I've never gotten to name a dog and this is the first time in 33 years I haven't had a dog. Anyway thank you for the puppy story and especially the Getlow story. Maybe you could do another video on Getlow and the pups and show pictures. Thanks 😊.
