She made an excellent point about horses and pain. Even once the pain is gone, they remember it and fear it. It can take a long time for that fear to go away. They're such sensitive animals. I loved seeing the change in her and seeing her get off the trailer confident and happy. It looks like she found the perfect home🤗 Thank you for helping her to get well, both physically and mentally. In the mid 80s bought an abused mare. Took year's to get her to enjoy people again. 5 year's to untrain and train her and she became a 4 time state champion, 5 time honor roll horse. She also threw great foals.

Me too, I also watch Doggy day care farm trips it’s has 20-40 dog’s come to the farm for the day and they have 2 pools and a dam it’s really great I find myself smiling a lot when I watch them, it really helps with people fatigue.

I always compare horses to dogs and donkeys to cats :) They are very independent minded and careful, that's why people call them stubborn and stupid... But they aren't, they are very intelligent and have a very good memory. They form strong bonds in pairs. They can be incredibly loving and playful. Amazing animals! 💚

My greatest hope for horses is that with all the information on the internet made readily available, people can and will be willing to learn how to properly care for horses and understand that they have feelings. Each horse has an individual personality, just like humans. There are better ways to go about treating horses. I also hope that the abusers and those guilty of neglecting horses will be outed, held accountable, and made to pay for their crimes towards these beautiful, gentle, majestic creatures.

It’s the best feeling in the world when an animal feels trust with you- all of my animals have been rescue dogs and quite a few of them were severely abused. One had severe seizures and was scared of everything but no matter how many times I adopted, I cried when they first leaned into me to sleep or cuddle because I knew they now felt safe with me. I’ll continue to adopt rescue dogs and hopefully other animals too.

How pure and sweet was this friendship between horse and puppy?! I've always known that I would be rubbish at fostering animals as I would never be able to let them go! I have so much respect and love for those that do because so many animals are saved and healed by these selfless humans. I remember watching one story of a foster home where the person said that they are always sad to say goodbye but they know that the animal is going to an amazing forever home and also if they had kept the animal, then there would be one less animal that could be rescued and saved 💗💗💗

Great story, thank you so much for sharing. It reminds me how as a child, on Sunday afternoons we'd walk around the neighbourhood and visit some older horses (about three?) and feed them apples and carrots whilst stroking them. It's a great memory but even better was a few/lots of years ago that the horses were rescued from the abattoir. Unfortunately the owners only had a limited space, so could only have three/four at a time. Thanks also for the memory and the smile now planted on my face.
