Getting started with your PUR PLUS 30 Cup Dispenser Filtration System - DS1811Z.
Hand wash dispenser, lid and pour tray with mild soapy water. Do not submerge.
Open Filter package and remove filter. Soak the filter in cold water for 15 minutes. Hold filter under cold running water for 15 seconds. Allow excess water to drain. Insert filter into pour tray, push down and twist clockwise to lock.
Fill pour tray with cold water. Allow the pour tray to completely drain into the dispenser. Change your filter every 2 months with a Genuine PUR replacement filter.
Activate your Filter Change light before first use and reset it every time you replace your filter.
To Activate the Filter Change Light, press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds. As you hold the button, red, yellow, and green lights will turn on together. Release the button while all 3 lights are still lit. The green light will blink 6 times after you release the button.
The appropriate light will flash 6 times after water is poured from the dispenser. Lights will remain off until after water is dispensed. Be sure to reset your Filter Change light every time you replace your filter. If the light on your pitcher is out, hold the reset button down for at least 5 seconds.
To prevent dispenser leaks, be sure nothing is pressing the water tap, such as the refrigerator door, that would accidentally open it and let water spill out.

Now I know why they don't tell you anything about the new 'Filter Change Light' in their advertisements because something has to power that light and they don't tell you that it's actually a "Non-replaceable battery" and that the battery will eventually stop working but they do make sure to say that the filter is still functional. Of course the filter is still functional. I'm sure the reason for this is because this thing is used for water and they were to make the battery changeable, they would have to make the battery compartment waterproof and if they do that, it would cost a lot more than $50. The one good thing is that it's most likely a long life button cell battery and will probably last for several years

And O ring would seal cheaply for a removable battery. When washing the spigot it could even have a release for the electric component to avoid the need for that. I always thought these would be really cool if they had a capacitor linked to a very tiny electric generator motor. The water running would spin a little water wheel linked to it. Then it could charge the capacitor and run the flow counter. Unless it is an actual water particulate sensor still the same idea works but even better since it only needs to trigger on when there is flow.

Just got this filter. It has taken over a half an hour to filter 1 1/2 inches of water. I followed the trouble shooting instructions and shook the filter. No change. I may get dehydrated waiting.

@@clarissajiminian6918 I have determined that it just take that long to filter the water. I have bought some different brand filters that filter much faster, however i can still taste chlorine in the water so I think the brand filters although slow are a better filter.

Is the lid supposed to just sit on the dispenser? Or is it supposed to snap on somehow?

I purchased this at the start of the pandemic and unfortunately just took it out the box for the 1st time. It will take me less time to drink the water once the pitcher fills, than it's taking me to fill the pitcher. I'd rather boil water, pour it into an old-fashioned pitcher put it in the fridge than to use this pur contraption again.

How do you remove the LED light before placing in the dishwasher? The manual indicates to use a tool below the dispenser but I cannot find one on a 2 month old unit.

What they don't tell you is how often should you take it apart and wash it....? I would also like to know if this plastic made system is getting nano plastics in the water I'm drinking?

We apologize for any confusion. We would recommend washing your dispenser between filter changes with mild dish soap and warm water, as outlined in the owner's manual. Also, we can confirm PUR bodies are manufactured from an acrylic-based polymer classified as recycling code #7, and the lids are manufactured from polystyrene, code #6.

Hey, i just bought mine andbthe light does turn on when I press the reset button but it does not turn on with every pour. Also, what happens when non replacable battery dies? Do i buy a whole new one?

Please how do we use the spigot removal tool? And is it just for cleaning? Is it necessary to keep it’s so small it’s easy to lose

Hey Ekiuwa. In order to remove the spigot, please insert the spigot removal tool into the two slots on the underside of the spigot, and then pull the spigot out. What owners manual? I only got a little sheet with quick instructions the o ly meantion of this little tool is to take it out if putting in the dishwasher. I went to the support page no meantion. It was just laying in the bottom of tank when i bought it. When i try to install it it holds the canister up its like its to big. I dont understand what to do with it. A friend of mine has a Pur filter and theirs filters water very quickly (I want to say within 45 minutes a full reservoirs worth of water is filtered), it might have to do with the amount of minerals in your water. Do you still have the issue?
