I recollect meeting Purbayan da in 2005 at a cultural fest in IIT-Kanpur during my student days. Back then he was already sublime and thankfully over the years he has blossomed into a virtuoso sitarist and tries to reproduce Pandit Nikhil Banerjee ang of Maihar gharana. My only afterthought: Purbayan-da should play classical stuff more often.

Purbayan, that Marwa bandish was nice - Matta Taal ( 9 beats..) -...Reminding meWhen I heard Nikhilda's Marwa, in oerson...late 70's - the Sitar "little jarring" upper Madhya saptak ( m D N S r...) Taufiq's bayaan did not impress....!
