After Saturdays performance I no longer share that same sentiment. This program looks like it is at a stand still with no possible solutions UNLESS Freeman takes honest responsibility for how he has ran this program especially on offense and allow the coordinator who Notre Dame Paid Top Dollar for do what he was PAID TO DO!!! "Dump Devine," stickers came out because despite a great defense the offense was anemic. The 3rd game was at. PURDUE. Notre Dame fell behind, Lisch was benched the 2nd qb was no better, and the 3rd string qb was hurt. Replacing him was Joe Montana. That team went on to beat Texas for the national championship. Basically, you should have spent more time in the classroom getting their heads straight instead of running plays on the field. We all know the talent is there. You literally ruined your entire season after 2 games. And the biggest problem is that you allowed this exact same thing to happen last year. So, its not like you didn't have past experience with this type of scenario. Top coaches will have this happen to their team on very rare occasions. Lesser coaches seem to have this issue much more often. Marcus, I do like you as a person. But from day one I just didn't think you were ready for this job.

Yeah...stop with this nonsense. This is year 3 and NIU is a worse team than Marshall. I'm ok with ugly wins from time to time but this team is psychologically done for the year. Don't believe me? Watch them struggle against Purdue and possibly even lose.

I really like Freeman as a person but reality is it is time to replace him as HC.

Marcus Freeman just needs to be canned, I never liked him when they first got him. He’s just a players coach with a big mouth. But he cannot coach. If he is what we have to look forward to for the rest of the year as Notre Dame fans, we’re in trouble with this guy. They need to start looking for a new coach right now. Three years now he’s been with Notre Dame. Nothings changed. And it isn’t going to change either.

NIU leaned on their best player, and ND couldn't stop him. The Offense has to get better quickly, or the same thing will happen again this year.
@tonyevans63Ай бұрын
Freeman is starting to lose a lot of the Notre Dame fan base. A lot of fans are starting to lose faith and feel completely different towards Freeman. This can't keep happening! You had your Marshall and Stanford and even Louisville! You are now in your third year and lose to NIU! Unacceptable! I don't think he understands the seriousness of this now. There are no more mulligans Freeman! This is Notre Dame! Former Notre Dame captain and linebacker Mike Goolsby completely sounded off on Freeman and is about completely done with Freeman. He lost all confidence in him! A lot of fans feel different towards Freeman now! You cannot keep putting the fan base through this Freeman and he just isn't getting it! There is some real incompetence going on here! This is all on Freeman and has been a consistent pattern since Freeman got here! That comment Freeman made during the game about Leonard, freaked out a lot of people! Bryan Driskell at Irish breakdown, wrote a beautiful article about the comment Freeman made and on the quarterback situation and how it goes much deeper than Riley Leonard and even though Leonard played bad, he is just a symptom of a much deeper sickness at Notre Dame and at the quarterback position. For example, if Freeman feels that way, which is a completely wrong way of thinking to begin with, but if he does, then WHY DO YOU BRING IN SOMEONE LIKE RILEY LEONARD WHO IS A PLAY MAKER AND STREET BALLER! IF YOU WANT A ROBOT, WHY BRING IN LEONARD? You bring Leonard in and then Freeman tells him not to be all the things that make Riley Leonard, "Riley Leonard" and difficult to defend! Freeman did the same thing with Sam Hartman! Hartman was a gun slinger and one of, if not the best deep ball throwers in all of college football, putting up 4,000 passing yards a season AT WAKE FOREST! He comes to Notre Dame and Freeman takes away what Makes Sam Hartman, "Sam Hartman!" Freeman keeps beating it in these guys head don't turn the ball over, don't make a mistake and it is messing with their heads and making them afraid to throw the ball and make a mistake! About half way through the season last year, Hartman start looking hesitant to throw the deep ball and afraid to make mistakes, which in turn, got in his head and caused him to make mistakes anyway! Hartman regressed and he didn't even put up enough passing yards to get to 3,000. Hartman regressed and looked like a different QB by the middle of the season on. Freeman ruined him. There appears to be a major disconnect and offensive philosophy problem with Freeman, that is handcuffing this offense and holding it back and that is the reason we keep having these bad patterns of offensive struggles! We keep having these issues scoring the ball, passing the ball and at the quarterback position! These are Marcus Freemans issues! Once again, it has been a very conservative, predictable, stale and uncreative offense, that is not utilizing their weapons and talent to their strengths and best abilities! That is a problem! You have now had these offensive struggles with 3 different offensive coordinators, including one that was the highest scoring offensive coordinator in football last year, in Mike Denbrock. Also, you have now had two very good college quarterback's, with proven track records, in Sam Hartman and Riley Leonard, that have both regressed and struggled under Marcus Freeman! DO WE NOT SEE A SERIOUS PATTERN HERE! 3 OFFENSIVE COORDINATORS AND AT LEAST 2 COLLEGE PROVEN QUARTERBACKS HAVE NOW STRUGGLED AND REGRESSED UNDER MARCUS FREEMAN! THIS IS A MARCUS FREEMAN PROBLEM! HE HAS A OFFENSIVE PHILOSOPHY PROBLEM AND HANDCUFFS THE OFFENSE AND IT HAS TO GET FIXED QUICK! LET DENBROCK COOK AND DO HIS THING WITH THE OFFENSE! GO IRISH!! GOD BLESS!!!

This was not what I wanted to hear today from Coach Freeman, I really wished he would address the terrible play calling and how he didn’t prepare for the game and how he didn’t set his players up for success on either side of the ball and didn’t call plays on the field that would play to their strengths. Why bring in Leonard if all you want is a game manager??? Edit; I want clarify I love Freeman as the HC of ND but he has to keep devolving himself. I honestly don’t know if there is a better choice than Freeman, too he really is perfect for this role in so many ways.

5 min to go in the game with the lead and u call 3 pass plays in a row ….? Ur identity has been u want to run the football to open the passing game … why is it opposite now when the running backs show production … Why no trust in the running backs to move the line of scrimmage to keep the clock running and pick up the 1st downs to close the game out…?
@JoeCesaroАй бұрын
Why are we blaming the poor performance of our offense on dropped passes. Riley is a poor passer get him out and play a QB who can pass the ball. Why could the defense not stop the run??
@DMP2923Ай бұрын
Because the drops were done by the OFFENSIVE. Riley is on the...OFFENSIVE.
@cluckyy1Ай бұрын
Haha because he also had plenty of good throws that were either droped or the receiver failed to get separation none of the receivers could get open for him to throw to and when he scrambled outside of the pocket they all just stood in place watching him instead of running to get open. The better question is why are you asking him to throw the ball 35 times when your two best players on offense are running backs with one of them receiving a total of four carries on the game and the other one not receiving many more and not a single one after he had a huge touchdown run.
@dragotx21Ай бұрын
QUIT OVERTHINKING it … man . Against Ohio state instead of trusting Estime and running the ball right at them at the end to close the game out we try some cute home run play that gets swatted down and we lose the game . Again this week your tailbacks on the team Love and Price u give them a few carries they show u they can get yards but you limit their opportunity and don’t trust them to close out the game again . u say ur identity is running the ball but you don’t implement what u say. If u don’t step in and tell the OC stop trying to be tricky and going for it all in one shot with 2 and 1 bomb and to just run it and punch them in the mouth … ur gonna lose your job .
