Purdue vs NC State Preview and Prediction | 2024 NCAA Tournament Final Four

As a Raleigh native and State fan I like this take of course! People love to talk D.J. Burns all day, but if it was just Burns they wouldn't be here. Diarra and Middlebrooks take the pressure off him and make great contributions defensively. Burns can't handle Edey alone but he doesn't have to. The Pack has a trio of big men. I still think State's defense doesn't get the credit it deserves. They have great team chemistry and are playing great defense. I think they find a way to disrupt Purdue's offense enough to win.

You wouldn’t have enjoyed watching Shaq either. I don’t understand why you enjoy watching only one style of basketball. Seeing a contrast of styles and strategies is what makes sports interesting.

I think this game comes down to foul trouble. Can state rotate the 3 big men on Edey to keep burns out of trouble or can state draw 2 or 3 early fouls on Edey to send him to the bench. Going to be a good matchup regardless

7’4” guy should be a match for burns… but not sure the rest of Perdue is a match for state. States appears to have been playing against team & zebras in several games… so we will see…

I think Purdue beats NC State in the Final Four by at least thirteen points

If someone other than Edey has a good night for Purdue i think they will walk away with this game. If Edey is carying the team again it will be fairly close but I think Purdue edges a win.

If Purdue misses shots like they did against Tenn AND if Burns doesn’t get into foul trouble, NC St has a great chance. But if Purdue can shoot around their 40% mark from 3 and Burns is limited to 25 minutes (he only plays around 27-29 to begin with) you start to see why Purdue is nearly a double digit favorite. Burns vs Edey is going to be fun. The refs could throw a curve ball and hit Edey with some early fouls.

Edey doesn’t get called for fouls much. Like you said, it would have to be a curveball. I’m a Wolfpack fan and I will go crazy if they win this game. They definitely can beat Purdue if they play great, but I don’t see them or Bama beating UConn. It’s just not happening.

In the Acc, I faded Nc state all 3 rounds. Then had them as a first round exit. After that, I just decided to ride the hot hand until it goes cold. Give me NC state +8.5. Purdue isn't so hot against the spread anyways.

#1 3pt shooting team in the country Also has the best post player in the country Lazy take to act like they just “dump it into Edey in the post.” A lot of their offense runs off pick and roll action with Edey and Braden.
