Pure 2.0 is Out ┃ Finally Photo Clouds in LCS Mode !

You can change the shadow opacity with Pure by pulling up the "LIGHT" settings. Specifically the 2 sliders in the "Ambient Light" group labeled "light.ambient.level" & "light.ambient.minimum". Turn them down to darken the shadows, and up to lighten. Also, mess with some of the sliders in "Directional Ambient Light" group depending on the map your're in. Works good at the Nord. cHEERS.

Yah I think the issue was when I changed them I then needed to change another setting as well as it was affecting the HDR/dynamic contrast or washing something else out. Just need to have a fiddle in different conditions I think I mostly have it nice now though

Hey, thanks for the superb review! And thanks for all that feedback. It's actually the same mind set i have with AC and efficiency. BTW, a big advantage of the skydomes is not only the photorealistic clouds, but a much less CPU consumption. Those 3d clouds can cause the double CPU consumption of the weather script. About the shadows: Shadows are just missing sunlight. So shadows are pure ambient light. In Pure Gamma i have an option to fade down the shadows. This lowers sun light, but boosts directional ambient light. With the LCS shaders this is a bit complicated. But if this is an important feature for endurance sessions, i could try to develop something. Did you already try the default "pure" ppfilter and just use the "photo-realistic" and "soft-look" slider to adjust such contrast things?

Yah I did have a fiddle with settings I just remembered that there was a single slider before that changed how pronounced shadows were 😆. I think it's fine really just need to mess around with things. On my stream PC/OLED I tend to set things up less punchy due to doing longer streams and looking at chat all the time and then the way the OLED is with blacks which is great for how it looks but a bit hard to make things out when the scene is super contrasty or super dull lol so it's always a compromise. PC games need eye tracking so HDR and tone mapping can work more naturally 🙃😄. I like how with pure if people want they can just find a setting for just about anything and then get the results they want which is cool for photo and image nurds 👌👍. Can't believe you are a shadow denier, Claiming that they are not a real solid thing ! The abuse shadows face is shocking to be honest and they deserve to be recognized. Keep up good work

i might need to install AC from scratch and get pure working properly, reinstall all my mods properly, because now i've got some sort of a franken-setto install going on where i'm not sure what cars work, i'm not sure what tracks work, there are literally 100's of cars and a bunch of them haven't been updated and don't work anymore. i need to dive in to installing all the proper mods, make a list and just get to it. then again when ACE comes out i might drop AC completely so not sure if it's worth it.

Hi, I have encountered a problem: Upgrading LCS was initially normal, but after playing for a few days, the frame rate automatically locked at 30FPS, and disabling vertical synchronization was also ineffective; As long as "Allow post-processing effects" is checked, this situation will occur, even if the post-processing effect is turned to "minimum" or "off", it will be invalid; If 'Allow post-processing effects' is not selected, the frame rate will immediately return to normal. my only complaint is that tracks and its environment don't reflect overcast sky brightly enough. it looks dull and more grey than the sky itself.

I think that can be adjusted with PP , people will make more PP profiles for this now and I'm sure you can find what you want. Or just touch the pp sliders and see what does what.

It is with a heavy heart I write. Dearest Brother James I have been away for a year now, roaming the lands in search of a different religion. After a night spent overly gorging on the fruit of the grape in some far off bedouin tent, I awoke to find my credit card had reopened the book of IRacing! And behold, it was good, and it was evening, it was morning, and there was much rejoicing. After coming from a console to PC it’s so frustrating to have to mess around so much to get it looking good, download so much mess around for hours upon hours to still get it no where near Gran Turismo is out of the box. I wish I could just pay someone to set it up for me and be done with it.

I get what you are saying in that it's a shame things don't "just work " instantly You don't have to mess around though , it's optional. And the advantage is unlike GT the cars drive more like real cars , the FFB is way more advanced , the game is not locked at a frame rate there is a near infinite amount of content that keeps coming for free and you will still likely be able to access everything in 15+years time. Also GT still exists and can always be played anyway. Also with PC stuff once you know the basics it's really quite simple and what you learn is good to know for lots of things.

Does Pure 2.0 require the paid version of the content manage and/or the paid version of the Custom Shaders Patch? If no, what is the benefit to either of those, especially the paid Custom Shaders Patch, which appears to only be a dollar on patreon itself, and as popular of a subscription there as Pure itself is.
