Godzilla is pretty intelligent too, he makes use of whatever works just as well to his advantage in most fights, rather than a brute that people mistake him to be. Even though he likes to fight head on. When he must have figured at some point Kong's axe is made from his species' dorsal plate and when Kong was overwhelmed held at tail point by mechagodzilla, godzilla almost immediately knew his atomic breath can power up the axe to help Kong gain the edge and counterattack mechagodzilla. Which he did. Goes to show godzilla isn't some brute but quite in fact a titan that has some or more intelligence and uses it and is adaptable aside from being just powerful or strong.

@@5Lion5ofGod7Even though King Ghidorah is an alien, King Ghidorah can gather information 10 times faster than Godzilla does because of his insane neurological system. Mechagodzilla has the same genetic makeup of King Ghidorah’s neurological DNA but has artificial intelligence built into it. However, Kong is a bit more intelligent than Godzilla in theory and the little fight in Egypt was an excellent showcase for Godzilla not really understanding what King Kong is trying to tell him until Mothra appears and tells Godzilla that Kong is asking for his help to defeat Skar King. There are a few parts that Godzilla is shown to have human level intelligence. Those two examples are when Godzilla was trying to be very gentle and careful not to destroy a historical landmark which is the Rome Collusseum, and when Shimu was free from Skar King’s control, Godzilla tells Shimu to freeze Skar King and Shimu does just that.

⁠⁠@@eddys9311More menacing than Skar King? Yes, though I do think SK’s energy is vile. For Shimo, she’s not actually evil, so of course Mechagodzilla would feel more menacing. The thing with SK and Shimo is that it was also supposed to have a whole army, but Mothra’s inclusion made it a much easier situation (yet Shimo was still wrecking everybody). This is my favorite fight in the Monsterverse, but the anti-grav battle and also the first showdown between Kong and SK were great.

@@eddys9311 The first showdown wasn’t done yet. They could’ve started round 2, where SK has his whip while Kong lost his axe, but SK chose to quicken it with Shimo. The skullcrawlers aren’t combat threats. Kong is stronger than any his size tier, including the Mega Skullcrawler in GvK. Most titans deal more damage than a monkey, it’s why they use weapons. But even for them, their weapons aren’t as effective as natural weapons, like Godzilla’s tail, bite, claws, spines, breath, and pulses are still more effective than the axe for example.

@@jaylive6157Two kings? Kong bows to nobody not even to Godzilla, as a matter of fact, whereas all the other titans bowed. Neither Ghidorah nor Kong will bow. The 3 of them are all apex titans, neither will bow to the other, kinda like apex predators in the animal kingdom, and humans too. Hence Ghidorah was killed while Kong and Godzilla made a truce neither bows to the other, while Godzilla remains king of the titans, Kong is not subjected to him and in fact Kong is also a king in his own right and rules over hollow earth. Despite being beaten to appease the Godzilla crybaby fans, when Kong does stand a fighting chance against Godzilla and even kill him, especially with that axe, Kong still refused to yield or bow to Godzilla. He's got character and I respect that, just like me. Amen.

The ending is absolutely perfect, Godzilla and Kong just battled the toughest opponent to that point, and instead of trying to tear each other apart, they chose to stand down as a sign of respect. Perfect ending to a great film with a phenomenal final fight.

@eddys9311 I believe part of the reasons the fights are so much better in GvK is because Mecha Godzilla is exactly that. Mecha. The fact he's a robot makes any gory brutality against him a lot more acceptable in terms of age rating. ...Though that still doesn't explain why we were able to see warbats get violated in GvK, but we couldn't watch a good fight between Kong and the Drownviper in GxK. Thing just had that offscreen death treatment.

Spoken like a true fan. Big G has long since been dethroned as my favorite Kaiju in favor of more relatable heroic Kaiju like Kong and Gamera. But I'll be damned if he isn't rounding out my top three. This film, despite the nonsensical plot, got me every time I thought Kong or Godzilla were done.

I’m a big Godzilla fan along with my mom and sister, while my dad is a big Kong fan. We were never a fan of Kong till, Monsterverse made Kong and Godzilla together. And we started liking Kong in Monsterverse movies. Because this Kong is a badass and never gives up like Godzilla is.

Godzilla is OP. He’s not fast or agile, has shorter arms and yet some how Kong is weaker? Kong has the strength the speed the longer arms and legs can jump insane heights basically hands for feet and on top of that has the Ax but no Godzilla’s stronger. They just don’t wanna hurt Godzilla fans feelings but Kong stack for stack should wipe the floor with Godzilla

@@drew90 a lot of it boils down to durability, Godzilla's thick hide makes it far more durable, and due to it's greater weight it has more impact behind it's attacks. Kong is much more fragile, and is much lighter. He has longer arms but due to his lighter weight he has less impact behind his attacks.

Mechagodzilla was controlled only by Ghidora's third party (in this case, San) and Ren Serizawa together with the AI of a super computer from Aipex, the 3 minds merged and created a new one and this explains why Mecha exploded once and for all. in the film, so much so that Ren was the one who had the most control over Mechagodzilla in the fight (the AI and Ghidorah just drove him crazy)

I think it was really evident in this fight that Godzilla actually HAD to evolve in the future. Things were getting way stronger and Godzilla was starting to get wore out. He needed an upgrade.

Can we just appreciate just how damn durable Godzilla is. He really takes a good beating in every movie and survives with out the help of others and often gets right back up for more. He’s also very brave he fights anything

Yeah true no plot , no better origin for skar king and shimo , how that stone control shimo, what about monarch founded montra egg , worst VFX for godzilla, shimo look like a sick shark face , skar king better written but (0% chance stand against any monster villain 😂I think mothra enough to beat him , less fights , so many deaths(no explain) not even care , make tiamat dirty(even know tiamat help our nature , and Kong only get potential in this movie 😂😢useless movie so far away 😔 Western people just care and protect their are own created titans like a Kong bruhhhh I think in future movie we will see less Godzilla Scenes .I don't know this is most worst plot ever Godzilla give extreme fight to king Ghidorah but powerless monkey can give that much of fight time to Godzilla crazy right it's all about plot that create to Kong . Ghidorah vs Kong Ghidorah negg diff but Ghidorah vs godzilla in land Ghidorah extreme diff/ sea Godzilla mid diff but Godzilla vs Kong show Kong survived more than Ghidorah time 😂

The reason kong stood a better chance in this fight is simple. MGodzilla was entirely created to kill Godzilla with everything equipped on it was meant for Godzilla. So when Kong got involved the robot wasn’t programmed to fight something more intelligent than itself therefore Kong coming out victorious.

Man, Ghidorah must've been feeling epic. Resurrected into a powerful, more mobile body. Matched against your greatest enemy when he is at his weakest. Only seconds from taking revenge, and to add further insult, Ghidorah intended to end Godzilla with not only his trademark fatality (blast down throat) but while looking at Godzilla with a mechanized version of his own face. I think that's why the rescue at 2:54 hits hard for me. Ghidorah had everything he wanted, and Kong said nope.

It's sort of a tradition for Godzilla getting his ass beat by Mecha just to team up with another to defeat him. If he didnt drill through hollow earth and battle Kong he wouldve defeated Mecha but it wouldve been one of his biggest feats. Wingard confirmed this too. Now in GxK, the newly evolved godzilla wouldve sure whooped Mechagodzilla. Also notice how despite Kong interfering, Mechagodzilla still continues to attack Godzilla no matter what

I will forever be shocked, thankful, and grateful that as a Godzilla/monster movie superfan since I was 3 years old (1987) that this movie was made AND made exactly as it is! I think it's perfect. I would've liked less of the human story telling, but it's honestly a perfect movie and I'm so thankful to be a Godzilla fan and get to have the Monsterverse in my lifetime. How f-ing great is it for us Godzilla fans right now?!?!? Hope the Monsterverse keeps going cause there's a lot of stories to tell, battles to be fought, and monsters new and classic yet to be seen😁

Godzilla took a big nerf in this movie. Keep in mind during king of monsters he was so radioactive he was melting structures. Had that been the same Godzilla in this movie our boy mecha would have been a puddle of iron and oil.

true but remember that he had been drilling a hole thru the earth for who knows how long, fought kong again for the entire night without rest, and then mecha g steps in against a pretty fatigued gojira notice how his atomic breath looks more like a flamethrower (like 2014) rather than being a concentrated laser like in KOTM and mecha g's
