I’m a retired (2012) Forensic Clinical Psychologist. I treated sexual offenders in the community for more than 24 years. I’m absolutely amazed by your courage. You are the most amazing woman and survivor of familial sexual abuse I have ever seen.... You are articulate and an example of why it is so important to face one’s fears and past trauma if one wants to heal from the abuse. Thank you so much for sharing your past life experiences with us. The best to you in the future.

Because he was so casual and confident and had over 20 yrs of evidence/souvenirs easily accessible for his viewing, I can’t believe she didn’t see any of this filth/drugs etc. She actually called the abuse an affair!!! An affair is a consensual relationship between adults. She was jealous that he sexually preferred to abuse a girl from a toddler to her 20s .She turned a blind eye, she should have been charged too.

Maya is incredibly strong. To have been abused, brainwashed and stalked from such a young age by your own father is enough to break anybody. Yet somehow she found a way to remain intact. What strikes me most about her is her refusal to be a victim. Bless her
@Em22-wtf
@Em22-wtf 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I am so encouraged by the fact that she refuses to be a victim. THere are people who literally love flashing their 'victim' card for anything that happens in their life.....And I use the word victim very lightly in that case because in the past few years it seems like SO MANY people claim victimhood just for being a female! It takes away from from the true victims, people who have TRULY been though some AWFUL stuff!! It makes me SO mad, because really, who WANTS to be a victim?? People like Maya who truly are victims of horrific things show that just because you were once a victim to someone so horrible it doesn't mean you have STAY a victim! Take the power back, because to me...the BEST way to get back at someone like her 'father' is using what happened to make yourself a stronger person that REFUSES to be RUINED by what they did and instead uses it to be a FAR better person than they were. NOT needed him, not being affected by him anymore, and allowing him to be NOTHING in your life, an insignificant PAST blip on the screen. Moving on and up in life I believe is the best revenge. I'd bet her 'father' HATES that she has become such a strong person, such a beacon of Light and positivity and strength to others who have been through similar things....and that makes me happy ;)

These behaviours and believes are pervasive through many layers of society globally and subtle insidiousness in politics, media social media work fashion, education advertising, law and order. She’s a beast!!!! She needs to be awarded the top humanitarian award available and recognized as one of the leading ladies of bravery and heroism as well as being a true and honest example of the real experience of the horrid road to healing and survival throughout that process! We do not kill ourselves while we’re in the abuse typically! We are in survival mode during the abuse! It’s the time afterwards, when we’re flooded with the sickening emotional flooding and life long PTS! She’s gone the extra in her experience and there are countless numbers of victims and survivors who need and who will manage to survive and arrive at a place in their lives where they can genuinely experience the emotional freedom to love deeply, be loved truly, trust another, laugh freely and know what it is to be happy and free of the torture and stigmas one lives with just from hearing her story and envisioning themselves in her place of healing one day🙏🏾

@@MayameenMeftahiBEM Thank you for sharing your life with us. I so agree with safe houses or shelters for children! That part of the conversation really hit home. Honestly, it IS an epidemic and probably always has been. After many years in India on and off, I can you that j don't know a SINGLE woman here who hasn't been sexually abused as children and almost of them their abuser was a relative. In the US where I am from, I know several. Most of them are female. This just has to stop. Thanks for being a voice for those who can't speak up for themselves. God bless you.

As if any public school teacher could even get near this topic in the US these days . You’re absolutely right . I’m 55 and remember a 5 th grade acquaintance who told me something about her father and her pubic hair . She was reaching out for help . No one had ever spoken to me about molesters or sex or anything . I felt really weird and uncomfortable and realized she was saying something I wasn’t understanding . If I’d been taught about abuse ? I would’ve told my mom or my teacher . To this day I remember her name and wish I’d known she needed help .

This was so important for me to watch as hard as it was. She is describing my father. Alrhough there are some differences, there is a pattern. I was born in 1957 so technology was not as advanced for recording, thankfully. My father did bug our house, intercept letters and stalk me. My abuse started as an infant and I was highly sexualized at a very young age. I, too, needed to learn that I did not cause this in some way. It is ludicrous to think I was responsible as a small child, but this is quite common for abuse victims.

I do agree with you that technology was nowhere near as good as it is these days, and even though I'm male I still recall ... vividly ... an aunt groping my groin, and she suggesting to my mom that she (my mom) should be educating me on the 'facts of life'. In my case, it went no further than that, but I can still recall that day as though it were yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with you, @KittyASmith, and I pray that you have been able to 'move forward' with you life and have learned that it was absolutely NOTHING to do with you, but your father's perversions. ♥

Abused children learn to dissociate very early on - self preservation. It is entirely possible to separate mind from body. Reintegration in later life is much more difficult, but necessary for full functionality. Clinical hypnosis is the quickest way, rather than years of psychotherapy.

That’s why I hate that multiple personality or dissociative identity disorder are looked at as fake or attention seeking bc in reality these are people who went through such extreme abuse at a such a young age the mind had to try and protect them. It’s horrendous what humans do to each other. Child abuse materials is a multi billion dollar industry. It’s everywhere and anywhere! It’s the people you would never suspect. Repeat offender, not very old, began as a teenaged boy had served his yr or so back 15yrs ago and still managed to get after his cousins young daughter and cause major damage of course! Thankfully his cousin who is a well respected n loved, fun loving guy here, put it into his Facebook in a moment of grief/rage. My community reacted loudly and took to the streets! A local motorcycle club made flyers and hit thr abuser’s neighbourhood on live street n w a megaphone in order to make sure that everyone was informed! The judicial members here have heard from us and I believe that he will serve actual time for this! Legislation must be changed! A yr Ago a judge in my town handed out a 10yr X 3 consecutive for a molestation case that did not involve near as much of the regular assisting abuses and torments I’ve seen in most cases here! Baby steps but we’ll get there🙏🏾

I’ve been starting to come to terms with my own sexual abuse, and I finally told my brother he’s the only one I’ve ever told. I’ve been committed to mental hospitals for suicide attempts and they’ve asked me point blank about some things, but I could never acknowledge it, like if you don’t say it out loud maybe it isn’t real. Maya’s story and bravery is so inspiring to me I hope one day I can also find a great man and have a happy family. Because I was able to get away from my dad I’ve tried to just act like it didn’t happen, but maybe that’s not the right thing to do, because I’m having a hard time getting things out of my head and I have this big thing I can’t talk to anyone about, I rely on drugs to numb myself and that’s the only coping mechanism I know. Your amazing Maya thank you for sharing her story love you both!!! 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓

No, don't bottle it up, speak out. Yes, your family may reject your truth but others will stop your brain continually trying to normalise the whole thing as if any wrong was your fault. Xx

I'm 61 and it was my brother.Please never think you can just act like it never happened,it did and you should talk to someone -not family about it.Numbing yourself with drugs is not good either but I understand.Please find someone to talk to,you might need antidepressants or anxiety medication.

Sigourney, I hope you can overcome any residual issues... please don't let drugs or misery allow these people who hurt you credence. It's easy for some stranger on a platform like YT to tell you this I know, but I hope you are doing better since your last post on here. Again, don't hurt yourself over scum like this. God creates the good and the bad....I will never understand God/nature created these sick individuals.

I've got ADHD and struggle to listen to long pod casts, but I was literally glued to this the whole 2 and half hours. Genuinely what a brave beautiful soul. May Allah bless her ❤️

That is one hell of a harrowing story. I’m so glad that she has managed to assemble a life for herself. So courageous and so strong. Shaun, I was blubbing along with you.

Okay, why are you crying?? She doesn't even go into details. I agree he's a creep videotaping the family and he deserves to be in jail but for you to be crying? She had a druggie dad who was up to know good.

Shawn was also moved to tears. His whole body grew cold. These are literally PHYSICAL things that happen when you have a deeply, caring, loving soul & heart. Her father is less than a worm & this woman is a WARRIOR 🙏
