There was nothing 'pure' about this Victorian job! This was even worse than the ‘Bone Grubber’ with street collectors taking waste from the streets. The pure finder's job was as dreadful in reality as it sounds, involving an extreme form of recycling. You will learn, in detail, about the desperate conditions of those who found themselves trapped in this form of ‘work’ in order to earn money to feed themselves.
