Jeff you have helped me a lot with my food plot program!!! When you talk about brassicas Would you give me a good list of what to plant in Georgia next year I have followed every step of every video all the way from this is my first year of making mock scrapes I have not put in water holes because I have three creeks on my property and several branches of creeks and natural water supplies I've even searched my woods which is 120 acres And I have found three different benches that the deer are using to travel on I have studied and listened to all of your videos on thermals My only problem is I planted the majority of my two acre food plot in iron clay cow peas I have about a quarter acre and straight radish not mixed with anything and I have a quarter of an acre in trophy rape they have destroyed the iron clay in an emergency situation I started studying more of your videos and I top-dressed the acre and a half with about a hundred pounds of winter rye I prefer not to put the winter rye in however I had to this year this is the first year that I've gotten really aggressive with my food plot program this is a food plot that I will not allow any hunting on there is only me and one other guy hunting this with my youngest son occasionally going out we are just archers My problem is lack of knowledge would you send me a list of the brassicas that you would recommend I live south of Atlanta by 40 miles also this is my email address and I would love to see if we can work something out possibly a visit GBM1964@yahoo.com I'm sure you have some way to do this directly from your website unfortunately I am not the most computer literate person I appreciate all that you do with all your videos for all of us that watch them Thanks Gary

What do you do if your 65 acre property has two always running narrow creeks that run through it? I assume the watering hole isn't needed. I'll be utilizing these mock scrapes with the vine hanging down for sure. Phenomenal information in your page. I'm blown away with all this content.

Hi Roger...I would do the EZ No Till plan...I have 4 acres of plots (New Plots), I am using that with myself, in August. As far as the buckwheat, it needs rain. I planted roughly 6 acres last Monday and they all were up and germinating within 5 days. BUT....had immediate rain, which is why I planted. Had I planted about 4 weeks ago as intended I would have had the same results as you. I would guess not enough rain for you...is that what you think? It comes up very easy, even in poor soil

Hey Jeff I have a situation here. I planted what I thought was 2 bags of round up ready soybeans this spring. I sprayed them last weekend and they are now dead! Apparently they weren't round up ready. What should I do now? Try and replant soybeans or should I try and plant forage beans? I really want a standing crop for the deer to eat this fall and winter. It worked well for me last year and I found 5 shed horns in my beans this last spring.

Jeff, in Michigan-Mannistee Forest area, gypsy moths have stripped every leaf from oak, Hawthorne, ironwood, birch and starting to hit cherry. Literally every leaf is gone. It would be interesting hear your opinion about how that will change hunting this fall.

Hi Jeff- Long-time viewer here that has benefited greatly from your knowledge sharing. Question is on a new, spray-3-times plot and if I can make the late peas/beans/oats planting work on half of it without tillage or a drill since there's no buckwheat this first year? I have a bag seeder, drag, and cultipacker. Other half will be brassicas so no problem there. Thanks!

I think this is the first time I've heard anyone prioritize licking branches, vines, scrapes over rubs. Seems to usually be the other way around with the claim that scrapes are usually hit at night. Is that hanging vine really that powerful? Maybe I need to rethink things. I always thought a rubline was a great way to get bucks traveling a route that you want them to go. Your foodplot plans are spot on for everyone to follow. There are some new brassicas out that I tried in my mix last year that were phenomenal. T-Raptor Forage brassica and Pasja Hybrid forage brassica. Forage turnips and a few purple top turnips round out my homemade mix.
@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Daryl...think of it this way: The majority of rubs are hit 1 time per year by 1 buck. A quality scrape is hit every day of the year by all bucks, does and fawns that pass by. Those that claim bucks hit scrapes at night are by scientific studies that don't apply to private landowners who do it right. The horizontal rub is the biggest fad/lowest level of attraction that folks buy into every season, unfortunately. Check out my mock scrape playlist of my own personal videos as the leading authority of mock scrapes online. Currently over 40 videos. They are even more powerful than a waterhole... kzbin.info/aero/PLmV8Ilexgmhee-6E06udW874E3ZoYWRfz Been teaching folks how to use them for over 15 years. Check out the footage 😊 After seeing thousands of mock scrapes on hundreds of parcels (as well as mock rubs) in over 20 states throughout the years...there is no comparison between the use of mock rubs vs mock scrapes. At least 100:1 use of scrapes over rubs. Those Pasja brassicas have been around for a long time...pretty good ones, like a lot of the forage brassicas.

@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 Thanks. It's a rainy morning here in Iowa so I'm thinking about where to put a couple of those vines. I'll have to watch a few of the vids on your playlist to get some advice on location. I also need to locate a couple vines to cut down! No small task to find the perfect one. Hard to believe we're only a couple weeks away from spraying plots for the late July brassica planting. My dad was a lifetime farmer as am I.
