Pure Grips are the best to me. I have been playing the DTX for over a year now. They never loose their tackiness. I wipe them down with a damp rag and they are good to go. A few of golf buddies have now swapped to the DTX after trying out my clubs.

This video initially got me interested in Pure grips because of the use of compressed air for installation without 2 sided tape and solvents(I hate both). Since then, I've been installing all grips using only masking tape and compressed air. The Pure grips web site says you don't need tape, but I started using masking tape because of what I saw you doing here. Since then, I have switched to using Golfworks build up tape because it has a much rougher surface. I tried it on JumboMax Ultralites, but needed 2 wraps of tape to keep them from twisting. Of all the club building sites on KZbin, yours is my favorite. Aside from our hitting studio, I have pretty much duplicated your shop.

Love the Pure grips! I use the Jumbo Wraps. I use their putter grips also. Tried all three sizes and went with the standard size. Even though the oversized fits my hand well I found that the tacky feel allows me to grip the smaller size without tension and I have more control with my putter. Thanks for another great review!

@@EFGMC I think it would. At the risk of people buying out the grips, I suggest you take a good look at the STR8 Ultralites versus a "standard" Ultralite, the width is different as well being non-taper & an inch longer thank the PURE/standard grips. Put this in a wedge and you have an extra utility especially if the golfer uses the clock system. Also check out Star grips, these are cheaper than PURE. PURE apparently was started by the guy that use to work for Star but recently PURE has been too expensive compared to Star. As well, Star does not feature any logo so it's absolutely perfect in a single cog adjustable driver when you change loft. Well, if you use air on grip, then it's moot, lol.

I ordered a Pure Pro midsized to try not long ago with a driver, made the mistake of thinking I could still install with standard doublesided tape and solvent... 3 days later the night before playing, the grip was still sliding and sloshing around with solvent and had to rush and install another grip that dried by morning... Loved the feel in the hands but, gotta get a compressed air setup going before trying again.

Standards are right around 50g, pretty much the standard weight for most rubber standard size grips.

At what pressure do you set your compressor. I'm in Australia and have a general purpose air compressor not a tire inflater so don't want to damage the grip.
@turbogti82 жыл бұрын
As low as possible where it still slides on. Probably try 40-50 psi to start with. Bump it a little higher if having trouble. Bursting the air can help too. Too much pressure can damage the grip
