On their website I don't see anything about a Pure 900. No mention of T51R mod. Says "uses stock housing" for all versions. Where is this Pure housing, new manifold option, etc.....?

Seeing some comments about how Pures seals are bad, I believe it’s a misconception that the seals have gone bad for Pures. I’ve had my Pure for over 40K miles with 0 issues. I have had some smoking at one point in the past on decel once in a blue moon with a cloud coming out my exhaust, I added the radium dual-port catchcan and the mishimoto one-way check valve in between the line that connects to the inlet and since then I’ve had no issues considering smoke, aside from the usual blow by our cars give. I think people misconcept that it’s the seals, when in reality it’s the PCV system in our cars. Also to add but I always check my set-up to make sure there are no boost leaks that can cause me over-spinning the turbo and blowing a seal itself. Again with proper maintenance, data logging, and ensuring you got a good tune. I’m sure you should have no issues.

Kern, can you please do a transmission video. Over here in the UK some 140i owners or fxx b58 owners use the 335d gearbox as a poor man upgrade to a built transmission.

Which turbo would you recommend on 93 only? Not looking for huge number. Under 550rwhp. Would the 650 be good for that? I just dont have time to mix ethanol or drive the car enough lol

@@Nytro423 not for a lot of people new to the platform.... I'm mostly familiar with v8s and coyotes. They're not that complex like this car. They ca. Run E out of the box without a bunch of other supporting mods.

@@98ws6m6cvert oh, sorry. If you’re 100% sure you don’t want any more than 550, then pure 650 is a good option. But I know a lot of people only wanting 600 and then they got power hungry and ended up getting a pure 850. So I would say if ur not completely sure, just spend the extra buck and get the pure 800 or pure 850 to save money in the future

My vehicle was the rear car with the 5.1 draggy and probably could get it into 4.8-4.9. Also worked with the shop MTech performance here in south Florida and tuned by Kagan.

I'm pretty torn. I'm fully stock minus DP and tune and leaning towards the Remnant Performance RP65 since it comes with basically everything including an intake and I think turbo inlet pipe. But now there's a DAW Ultraflow 6466 and Pure900 (both I want a T51r mod on lol)

I’m running a TU pump on only 93 octane. Is there any point running something like a DAW Ultraflow or would I already be fuel limited on a flowmax 2.5+?

You’d be fuel limited. You would still get a few extra PSI up top vs stock turbo but you’re looking at probably 50hp at most. I’d say the two options are either go for Dorch ds25 on top of the turbo, which is 4k total (not including install if you want a shop to do it). Or put that money towards new car fund.

on e30-e40 an upgraded turbo you can see 550 whp on tu but you are pushing the pump... stage 2 pump is good for 600whp, best optionfor fueling is tu, port injection and lpfp thats the cheapest option for fueling to utilize a bigger turbo

I'd go doc race top mount with next gen precision 6466. Will support around 900whp with proper supporting mods of course. Just wait little longer because doc race is releasing tubular exhaust manifold with the kit soon. Just my opinion, probably little buyest because I have the doc race 6466 kit

@@BelieveNothingAllLies please do not max out ur turbo. Even if it says it can handle 800, shoot for 700 so u don’t destroy it. I would probably go for either a pure 900 or a top mount turbo kit if u have the money for the install, the solenoid installation, and custom dyno tuning

I have a feeling that’s not true. Although I don’t think there’s a massive difference, I could very easily see one of them liking a big turbo better than the other, for any number of reasons. Which is why I asked the guy that seems the most knowledgeable on the internet about BMW’s.

I'm gonna be a test dummy for the 650. '22 m240x Currently have a dp, custom tune, intake and charge pipe, exhaust and xhp but want to stay on pump gas. I'm adding meth injection and originally the 800 but went with the 650 as I'm not doing a built engine or transmission.

if you wanna maximize it. start with PI w/reflex + LPFP If you don’t do fuel upgrades, don’t bother upgrading your turbo, period.

Pure should step away from mimicking the factory design as it restricts flow. Pure should use a larger diameter, log style manifold with a V band flange to accept an internally gated Garrett G series turbo, which utilizes a custom bracket in order to keep the factory electronic wastegate actuator. This would give them an edge on the competitors.

Two different companies, not the same. Also PureTurbos has been around for years, they do more than just B58 Turbos and have been doing higher-end performance cars like Ferrari’s and McLarens with no issues. They’ve pretty much paved the way for the hybrid-market.

@@adzluxury4755 hit or miss most ppl have smoking issues like I did as soon as it was installed. Pure will blame everything but the turbo I know first hand because my car started smoking as soon as I installed it. They kept making me throw different parts at the car until the turbo failed completely. Started smoking like a train then boost was non existent. Pulled off the turbo the shaft play was the worse I’ve ever seen. They warrantied it but said I “over boosted” which caused it to fail to avoid paying for labor when I had to swap it
