I do feel exactly the same. Got beamed back into the 80' s with this modern touch. Isn't it just amazing and like a gift? Thanks dear lovely and beloved Kylie. I even was a fan when I was 13 years old and locked up in the former German Democratic Republic , GDR. Tried to get the music in sometimes illegal ways. I used to be a little boy. And now 36 years later, you are still here, and I still adore U. I got the chance to visit 4 concerts of u and I'm still your fan 🤫😭😅 One of ur concerts in Manchester, Kyrill the storm destroyed everything 😢. After the wall came down, in 2001 I went to Australia , to my auntie in Adelaide, the cousin of my grandmother, Tante Helga and Onkel Oskar, who left Germany in the early 50's ojf an invitation of the Australian government. Its a fantastic album. The next single is very likely to be hold on to now. It seems like its Kylies own favourite. She also performed it before the album release, and it has taken off on itunes and streaming already and could possibly chart already. My favourites, aside from the singles are Story, hands and just imagine. You mentioned that it may be missing some emotional connection, but if you revisit just imagine, somebody to love and especially watch the radio 2 in the park performance of hold on to now, i think you may find that missing piece

Loved your reactions, mine were so similar. I had her Locomotion single on cassette as a kid, it's amazing that she's still putting out incredible music, some of her best, these years later. If you like Somebody to Love (which is one of the highlights of the whole album), I recommend Carly Rae Jepsen's Emotion and Emotion Side B.

Great reaction, as always. Funny your favorite, "Hands", is the only one I'm not feeling. Otherwise this a brilliant piece of pop perfection from The Goddess. You should check out the Tension outtakes, "Hello", "Vegas Baby", "Drum", "Heavenly Body" and the criminally neglected "Running". How that one isn't even a bonus track is crazy!

The one thing I think we are missing in this era is officially released remixes that you can buy. The first 2 singles all we've had is extend versions. I love the singles, Vegas high, just imagine, somebody to love, hold on to now - hell I love the whole thing really. I think, as I read someone else say, 10 out of 10 sounds better in the context of this album than when I first heard it and was more dismissive of it.

I was so scared this was going to happen with this album and my fears came true. Her last 5 or so albums, I love the lead single, it's always fresh, electro, a banger. And the rest of the album is generic glittery, outdated pop that all sounds the same. There's not any song on this album I'll listen to again other than Padam and Tension :( I was so excited for the rest of the album to be like those singles!! :(

I am on the same boat too! I am actually quite shocked people like it so much, and is even getting amazing reviews from the press. Most songs sound like rejects from her 80's albums mixed to make them sound a bit more current, or like a background music to a cheesy 80s movie. I really like Vegas High and Hold On To Now, but they are still subpar compared to the first two singles, which are perfect but now feel completely out of place.

I kinda see what you were trying to say with Kiss Me Once and Golden. The singles are good but the rest is just forgettable. Sadly, I think this Tension album falls under that category as well. However, Aphrodite and Disco are pop bibles. I don’t think people make sonically cohesive pop records like those anymore.

this album was touted as being like X the sequel.. X the sequel its not There are maybe 4 bangers on here And the rest sound like out-takes from the Disco and Golden Albums Sadly disappointed I hope if she takes this album on tour she relies more heavily on the material from Disco than this album!
