Wonderful reaction. I cried with you. I cried when I first heard it and I still cry. Visiting the past hurts sometimes, but sometimes it's comforting too 💖

This and Weeknd/Ariana at the IHeartRadio performance are the best live clips I can think of, maybe along with Joni on her stool doing Case of You or her piano singing Woodstock.

Tastes differ on this subject very much. There are some Madonna songs which seem to be among her most popular, I myself am not a big fan of ("Vogue" and "Frozen" for example). If I had to pick a top 10 of her songs I like to listen to the most these would probably be (no particular order): "Like a Prayer", "True Blue", "Open your Heart", "Cherish", "You'll See", "4 Minutes", "Sorry", "Into the Groove", "La Isla Bonita", "Papa don't Preach".

I never considered her a great vocalist I never considered her a good vocalist and this was sick as hell she nailed it which means she can do it.

This fascinating video was the lastest Madonna video when I became her fan back in 1999. Her artistry and visuals were so amazing. She was so powerful and creative. I just couldn't believe my eyes and my ears. And yes, the lyrics are about her daughter Lourdes, who at the time was 2 years old. Amazing reaction Johnny. You are always so smart and your reactions are so clever. And the connection to David Bowie is very accurated, since Madonna said that she got her chamaleonic persona inspired in David Bowie, who was one of her favorite artists when she was very young.

Back then, people (especially my mother lol) would get mad if an artist changed the arrangement or sang a song differently in concert because it made it harder to sing along. Now, it's something that people look forward to (provided it's still recognizable as the same song). I imagine that was birthed from the artist's desire to avoid getting bored. The audience usually only hears it once, but the artist has to perform it countless times on tour.

Kelly Clarkson Underneath the Tree is the next iconic Christmas song. That vocal is great. It's poppy. It's got a very catchy melody. It's the last great Christmas song. I also really like Cher's new one, DJ Play a Christmas song. It's not quite as iconic as those but it's Cher so....

I remember in the late 1990s listening to this when I was studying in Melbourne Australia. I think it was 1998 when this was played on radio, I was 21.....i always thought this was a negative song, depressing, lyrically. But yes george carried the vocals perfectly emotionally. Depressing yes, but beautiful.

Her other best tunes are I Say A Little Prayer and Ain't Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You).. Mmmm delicious Her voice and the band really made 80s R&B music sound like crrrrap. Keep the Soul Train choo-choo'in mi amigo! And at the end you put on my favorite singer all time. You my friend deserve a custom Pulitzer.

I know I've already commented 7 months ago, but I come back to your GM reactions every so often (because I love them). I do love this song but the version I am absolutely obsessed with is the Unplugged version (same as Star People and I Can't Make You Love Me). In my opinion, it's better than the studio recording. Absolutely stunning performance!! ❤

You’re reading way too much into this performance. The lady gave an amazing performance and you’re looking for a reason to fine flaws . She is singing a song about pain and breakup , what you want her to smile and and look happy ?
