I always felt like nothing could match the soul mage in PvE (except maybe the Blueblood spellsword). It also proved itself to be a menace in PvP when built and played properly.

Soul Mage is, in my opinion, the strongest build in the game. Absolutely erases PvE, and it is very strong in PvP. I will say that it is harder to use in PvP as strategy and knowledge of spell targeting are needed (unlocked casting). That said, there are a few other builds that are also VERY strong and also sit at the top. FTH Regen is incredible. You are so hard to kill with this build. And, of course, cursed DBS. The sheer amount of damage it puts out is simply tremendous. 2-shotting or 3-shotting a boss is very satisfactory. Thank you for your comment!

Great video. Only correction that can be made is 16 STR is really not needed. Even if you wanted to main the phosphorescent pole, the 2H swing is the only way to use that weapon as the 1H animations for pole arms is terrible and more so since that weapon lacks power. 11 STR would allow 2H a 16STR weapon so you can save 5 precious stat points.

Thank you! I am glad that it was useful. Soul farming really depends at what point in the game you are at. The earliest Soul Farm is 4-2, at the beginning, kill the Necromancer. It will also kill the shadow mobs and you will get almost 10K souls if memory serves me right. Later in the game, 4-4, the Storm King archstone, killing all the flying manta rays is definitely a good spot too. There are others, but these are the ones that I used most often. @@FrownyGaming I also found that the big stone/fire slugs in 2:2 are great [in the maze of tunnels] and easier to get to early game than the 4:2 farm. Even easier to get to once flame lurker done as its 30 seconds back-pathing.

That's a good question. You can very easily take care of the dragons with this build. It has the damage you want and the ranged options that you require. Completely fine. You can substitute it for the Silver Coronet. Obviously, you will lose some damage but you get a bit mor MP. Thank you for your comment.

I did it all but stay mainly Mage so havent used that OP weapon. Got Crescent Faschion +3 / silver Catalyst Heater shield +4 / Kris Blade Small bow +4 for farming. Sitting at Vit 21 Int 14 (gonna hit it 4 times to get another spell next) End 11 (to slow roll eith my equipment Str 11 (to get better shield and will level up 3 more to replace faschion with Kijiji) Magic 35 Next I want to upgrade Kris Blade, and try to get thst Monls Head wrappings. And wondering if I change Heater shield for Adjucator Shield. Also want to upgrade Faith to 16 for second chance.

Everything that you mentioned sounds good for the Soul Level you are at. Except for one thing. The mention that you make about the "slow roll". If you are fat rolling, that's no good. Avoid that at all costs. It is better to wear less armor (or no armor) and avoid fat rolling. Thank you for your comment.

So much fun trying to Optimize my build. I still gotta beat 1.4 and World 5 but Build it's spicy. Did give some endurance for extra armor and I used my Crescent Kijiji+5 a lot. Level 70 Vit 25 INT 24 End 12 STr 16 Mag 40 Faith 16 Monk Head Wrappings / Ancient Chest piece / Venerable Gloves and wizards pants Rings: extra spell slot and extra magic damage R1: Wooden Catalyst L1: Kris Blade +1 R2: Crescent Kijiji+5 L2: Knight Shield +9 Spells: Homing Arrow / Firestorm. (Will add Soul Ray as my general enemy beater) Miracles: Second Chance Want to combo Homing Arrow and Firestorm on bosses. Need to level INT more. World 5 gonna be my bitch. Build it's basically done. Wonder if I change Kijiji for Uchigatana. And level up INT for more spell slots.

Well with elden ring i got into and research builds. Became overpower how I like lol and after 300+ hours became top 3 game of all time for me. I just got PS5 and haven't put Demon Souls down. Wonder if I should get into Bloodbourne next or wait for a future remaster. How you like newer souls like titles like Lord of the fallen and Lies of P? Wonder if I get into one of those next

If you want to get absolutely everything in the build, it will probably take close to 2 playthroughs. That said, if we simmer down the basics... Crescent Falchion from 5-1, Kris Blade from 2-1, Ring of Magical Sharpness from 3-1, can be obtained early and they make up the most important parts of the build. I think it is easy to get it online. Question. I see some mage builds that dont require 16 str/dex and dont use the phos pole, i even read some stuff about still having the regeneration while not even meeting the req to properly wear it. So my question, is the 16/16 really worth it?

The 16 STR/DEX is definitely a personal choice on my build. I really like the Phosphorescent Pole to use as my weapon. It has the Halberd moveset, which is VERY good, and it deals ENOUGH damage to take care of the weaker mobs while I regenerate MP. I cannot overstate how good the MP regeneration is when you do not have souls to spare on spices. I took it to NG+5 on my Magic build and it did not let me down. It is definitely a PvE weapon only, but I think it is worth it. That said, you need to see what you want out of your weapon. You can definitely just carry it in your off-hand to regenerate the MP without meeting the stat requirements. Or using a Moon Mirdan Hammer is an alternative that does more damage with the same moveset, without the MP regeneration. The extra levels could go to vitality or endurance or to meet the requirements of your favorite weapon. This is definitely going to come down to what you prefer. Thank you for your comment.

@@Moraalridder123 47 INT / 47 FTH TOB builds will definitely do more damage than 50 INT Insanity. The difference is not a lot, but the main attraction is that you do not get you MP halved. Once again, it's a personal choice: do you prefer half MP with 40 VIT or full MP with 30 VIT and less endurance?

@@FrownyGaming I've been using the Crescent Falchion from 4-1 and it's been working well too, even only at +2 I can handle most mobs with just it while I wait for mp regen (if I don't decide to hit some spice and get my mp that way), especially if I backstab, which oneshots almost everything I've come across at 30 magic. It also makes very quick work of the 1-2 boss once you knock him down, even at +1 (which is what it is picked up at in 4-1) on 1st play through it stays down long enough to kill it the first time you knock it down. You can easily kite the red eyed black skeleton that guards it by getting just close enough to target, then holding back and repeatedly casting soul arrow. Also worth the souls and the herbs it drops if you can make it passed the silver skeletons to get to it (which I do right after 1-1). Got the idea from fextralife's begginer mage build. Also, a note for others attempting that, all the skeletons are weaker to fire damage (about 2-3 hits with Flame Toss you get vs 3-4 from soul arrow... and red eyes takes around 10 soul arrows early game, didn't count how many flame tosses it takes but its lower).

I highly recommend that you check out the "Strength/Faith Build" video on the channel. It lets you use all the Strength weapons, including the Great Axe and Great Sword, without the need of Cursed Weapon. @@bader77uk I say get Homing Soul Arrow first. Even with the standard wooden catalyst, it will do amazing damage for the first playthrough. On NG+ you can get the Insanity Catalyst to complete the build.

In order to get white tendency you need to defeat bosses, defeat invading players, defeat the NPC black phantom or defeat the Primeaval demon of 3-2. just use wood catalyst. half mp is not worth it. dont even think the insanity doubles damage from wooden anyway. get more shots out with more mp meaning more damage overall in the end. insanity is probably better in pvp. but against a boss you might want more casts.

This is definitely a personal preference situation. This build is made to maximize damage and Insanity is a considerable damage increase. Halving the MP is a hefty price but, even at NG+5, bosses die in three casts. As always, play what you prefer. Thank you for your comment!

How far in the game do you have to be to get a crescent weapon?

Right after the first boss. Once you beat the Phalanx and unlock the archstones, go to 4-1. There is a Crescent Falchion that you can suicide run to. Once you get to the wall with the two archers, go inside and to the left (watch the trap!). Before going up the tower, there is a doorway to your left. Run through, past the red katana skeleton, and you will find a Crescent Falchion +1 on the edge. Good luck and thank you for your comment.

As frowny states, you can get a +1 Crescent Falchion right after 1-1, by going to 4-1. If you care about your world tendancy, though, I suggest proceeding slowly as the skeletons there will eat your hp very quickly, and you've got 4 silvers, 3 archers (though 2 you can ignore as they're on top of a building, but they CAN hit you near the red eyed skeleton) and a redeyed one that can easily 1 shot you. If you roll to the sides of the silvers, they are less likely to roll towards you. As for the red eyed one, stick to the left wall and approach slowly until you can target. Then, slowly move away from the wall until you know you can hit with soul arrow/flame toss, and start holding back and pumping out the magic. If he jumps at you, roll forward and you should make it under him and keep pumping out that magic.

You mentioned that you would consider doing a hyper build instead if you dropped below 40 vitality. What kind of stats would you be running with that build? Do you have an alternate build that uses talisman of beasts instead?

I haven’t sat down to min-max a hyper build yet. But, off the top of my head, I would drop VIT, STR, and DEX to base levels. Raise FTH to 50, in order to use a 50/50 Talisman of Beasts. Substitute the Kris Blade for the Morion Blade, and the Fragrant Ring for the Clever Rat’s Ring. Damage bonuses would stack cumulatively (or multiplicative) for massive damage. Everything would probably die in one hit, including me. It would de a really good build for fighting bosses, but running through each level might be a become tedious. I think it’s worth a shot. Why not levelling up more Faith instesd of magic?(about equal?),so u can use the beast talisman. I got a Magic/Faith 36/36 build with level 125 and its vety good in all situatian. Magic power scales with fsit if you equip beast talisman

This is a good question. It is a matter of what you want from the build. At 36/36, a pushed Talisman of Beast will do less damage than an INT 50 Insanity Catalyst when casting spells. You would need to level FTH and INT to 43/43 in order to make them about equal, and the Talisman of Beasts is better from 44/44 and up. So, if you want pure Magic damage, INT 50 Insanity is better on a SL120 build. But, if you are looking for the comfort of more MP and a few more Miracles, definitely go for 36/36 ToB. I made this build looking for the highest damage possible at this Soul Level. As such, I made the decision of going INT 50 Insanity. Thank you for your comment. I appreciate your input.

Alright, the game can be a bit overwhelming for a new player and that is completely fine. The Knight starting class is perfectly fine to start, but as you mentioned, the roll is slow. This might sound a bit counter-productive, but still, take off most of your armor. Fast roll is the most important thing you can have and it's important that you learn to dodge with it. Also important is to level up Vitality and Endurance early. You are learning, so being able to have more health, stamina and equip burden will give you a better chance to learn. Your damage might be low for a bit, but it's worth it. Next, be smart with weapon upgrades. Even if it's just the starting weapon, pick a weapon a stick with it. If you spread to thin by upgrading different weapons, you are going to run out of materials. Concentrate on one weapon and run with it. It will be stronger as a result. You can always replay the game and do other builds to test other weapons at a later time. Finally, if you really want to try magic, start as Royalty. It is the best starting class due to its stat block and and the equipment it comes with. Frustration will happen but be patient and stick with it. The journey is worth it and I am very happy to see a new Souls player. Good luck and thank you for your comment!

Now I started vth royalty its prety gud and easy killing.. How to start vth level building and what gives more attack on early.. Now I had magic 20, stamina 16, intelligence 15, vitality 20 and faith 13 but still no attack power.. Is this OK for me to start vth pls suggest

With those stats, I recommend you get the Crescent Falchion in World 4-1. Its easy to get and very powerful.

My advise is to go for the homing soul spell. Wooden catalyst and Homing Soul Arrow will deal enough damage for NG and NG+. You also have more time to level up and increase your MP, which will be halved when you get the catalyst. Thank you for your comment!

This is a REALLY good question. In order to have both, you need to go into NG+, and I recommend you do this. But, which one you should get first? In my opinion, you should get Homing Soul Arrow first, and then the Insanity Catalyst in NG+. Even with a standard wooden catalyst, HSA is very powerful and will make short work of bosses. Also, getting the insanity catalyst in NG+ gives you time to level up your MP, in preparation for the 50% reduction. Thank you for your comment.

I appreciate your comment! The Monk Head Wrap is not obtained by beating the Old Monk. To get it, you have to invade another player's game as the Old Monk Boss and defeat them. When you do, you will get the Head Piece. This, as a result, makes it an online-only item. If you do not have access to online, I recommend the Silver Coronet as a good substitute for the build.

This would work but keep in mind that your damage will be MUCH lower. First, the off-hand shield means that you cant use the Kris Blade, losing 30% magic damage. Second the TOB will always do less damage than the Insanity Catalyst unless you have 43/43 MAG/FTH. This is a big level investment. Of course, this means that your MP won’t be halved and the shield can help you defensively, so you will have a more comfortable build. But your damage will plummet. Thank you for your comment!

I have to say that I disagree. Granted, DS3 magic is not as strong as in the other games, but that is a process of balancing. Just because magic no longer makes difficulty disappear in the game, it does not mean that it is horrible. You can still one-shot most invaders with Crystal Soul Spear (if you are good enough to land it), and Heysel's Pick gives us the opportunities to true combo into some spells for great damage, with added ability to pressure and roll-catch. The Talisman of Beast can be better than the Insanity Catalyst with a higher Stat investment. I use it on the build that I took to NG+5. It's definitely good option. Thank you for your comment.
