About the miners dropping an absurd amount of stones in the second run; when you're going through that area for the first time, some of them carry sacks. They only spawn the first time and get replaced with a normal one when you kill them, but the sack ones have a guaranteed drop of several sharp and hardstone of various qualities. Hopefully this answers your question

Since you brought up the Fat Official's outfit to access Yuria, it's worth noting you only needed to wear the Official's Cap in the original version. The full outfit does not exist in the PS3 version, just the cap. They added the rest of the set and changed the requirement in the remake.

Doing this in Elden ring you could do sorcery in ng, incantations in ng+, and finally spells that require both int and faith in ng++.

Yeah that’s the path I thought of and I’ve seen other people suggest this as well. Though honestly I have no idea how this run will go in the DLC. All my challenge run plans only incorporate the base game. Honestly don’t really enjoy the DLC because gathering the Scadutree fragments is such a chore.

I really like the remake. It's absolutely gorgeous, plays very smoothly, there's so many small details added like rain stopping under the storm king, or cutring your hand for curse weapon, and a lot of the redesigns are really cool if you can look past nostalgia. Only thing I think they didn't do well was some of the armor designs but hey if you manage to kill vanguard in the tutorial you can get the og helmet

The ring of sincere prayer does indeed boost cast time, i.e. make it longer (You can also get the talisman of beasts by killing red phantom Skirvir, who spawns in 2-2 at pure black world tendency)

That firestorm is the one thing I knew from DeS after getting into the series durring DS 1/DS2 og timelines. Its well worth it but is much more difficult to utilize after its hard balancing for subsequent games

If you're doing a magic build then yeah world 2 is supposed to be done really early. Everything there is weak to magic and their souls give good fire spells. You can even get the talisman of beasts if you get pure black world tendency which works as both a catalyst and a talisman, scales better than the insanity catalyst, and doesn't half your mp.

i think what is a good way to have split them is to go by trainer. Sage Freike and his Apprentice as one run, Yuria as another run, and Saint Urbain & his followers as the third. (It makes it easy to internalize how you'd spend the demons souls each time, too.) It characterizes the witch based sorcery and the wizard based sorcery a little strongly from eachother and all that.

You can also obtain the Talisman of Beasts by defeating the black phantom version of Scirvir the Wanderer in one of the Stonefang Tunnel levels with pure black world tendency. That probably would have made your life easier.

The reason God's Wrath didn't connect on Tower Knight at times is because of the greatshield being in certain animations. Same thing can happen with certain melee weapons, such as spears. If you stand in spot where the hitboxed touches both his foot and the shield, ALL damage gets cancelled.

Do you have any plans to try a similar style run for Elden Ring? I know the number of bosses in the game and the changes to the spell categories present some difficult decisions to be made about how to adapt the format. Nevertheless, I'd love to see this idea continue. This style of run going into NG+ cycles is exciting to watch. Maybe the third "casting school" could be using Arcane?

You can totally hit the Storm King with God's Wrath. You need to climb up on some rocks at the edge of the arena and cast the spell as he flies overhead. Edit: Check out InfernoPlus's Demon's Souls one-shot video. He uses God's Wrath to one-shot the Storm King and does it in the same way I mentioned before. You'll see it in the video, I promise.

You did say that's you're unfamiliar with Demon's Souls. For future reference if you make more challenge runs I want to point out two things. 35:45 The sidequest for the other Miracle Talisman requires Pure Black World Tendency in Stonefang Tunnel, which can be achieved by dying while in human form repeatedly in that area. (when you have your entire HP bar.) Pure Black Character Tendency (from killing NPCs,) is a different mechanic and doesn't affect the sidequest. Character Tendency only really matters if you ever want to use the weapon Northern Regalia, since the mechanic changes its attack power. 36:05 The Ring of Sincere Prayer says it "Raises Miracle Power and Casting Time." Raising casting time means it literally raises the time it takes to cast the spell. It's a longer animation to use Wrath of God, being a tradeoff in exchange for the increased damage output. Having the option to sacrifice damage for more safety might have helped relieve at least a tiny bit of trouble during the run.

So for the other miracle talisman, there's an assassination quest from Mephistopholes which rewards you with it when you kill Ostrava but she only appears when you have pure black character tendency. I thought that was the only way to get it but yeah I since learned about the black phantom that also drops it in Stonefang. And yeah I'm an idiot for misunderstanding what raising cast time meant on the ring 😂😂😂

​@@JKLeedsalso easiest way to get black character tendency is kill tye merchants in tower of Latria and world 2 as they give the most towards black tendency both at -3 so just thoes 2 will get full black so u don't have to worry about other npcs obviously get what you need from them as well also to get mestophelies to spawn you also need to kill the npc you free from a cage in the second level of tower of latria after fools idol

Say what you will about the remake but this game is one of the most beautiful games in the current gen. Unfortunately I never played the original Demon's so I don't know much, but I really loved playing DeS remake
