Coming Up To Consciousness’ is the third of its post-hiatus renaissance records that began with 2020's ‘Eupnea’ and continued in 2022's ‘Above Cirrus’. Like those two predecessors, the new record is intensely personal. Its eight tracks are all between four and seven minutes long - concise by PRR standards - and they grapple with darkness of various kinds.

This album is a nice cross between Pineapple Thief & Steven Wilson but still very layered, original with male / female vocals in a pop/prog/alternative blend. I like that it's about 40 minutes long & it is definitely an album to listen to in one sitting. The subject matter makes me think of past pets & our current dog 'Brody' & how they really are family members. Guess we are all in the same boat & this really is a universal theme. It's a special album you will want to repeat & play again after you first listen to it. Thanks Phil!

Hi Phil, after watching this review I then did a Spotify listen and was bowled over by all off the tracks. Sadly my local record shop didn’t have it in stock and so I did an Amazon and hopefully my copy will arrive tomorrow. Thanks for this review as I had no idea this band ever existed 👍
