I'm very, very glad that Bill Ward will get to take a final bow in front of an audience that he never got to take during The End tour. If I'm being honest though, instead of being super excited when I heard this announcement, my first thought was "please let Ozzy get through this without embarrassing himself". I love the guy and his music, both with Sabbath and on his own, has been such a big part of my life I would never want his (surely) final performance to be a sad moment.

My 17 year old son ran down the stairs about an hour ago to tell me the news - he's a massive Black Sabbath fan (I've created a rock monster! 😂), and he is so excited. I'm busy trying to manage his expectations of actually being able to get tickets and the possibility that it still may not happen - we had tickets for Ozzy 2 or 3 years ago which was cancelled and my son was beyond devastated! We will definitely go if we are lucky enough to get tickets, but I can't see a live streaming event salving his dissapointment if not! I'm sure booking concert tickets wasn't this stressful when I was younger!!!

I think it's great!!! I first saw them on TOTP and bought the single of Paranoid the next day. I bought the first four albums and loved them, but my tastes changed after that, as I got into jazzrock, and eventually jazz per-se! I have always admired them, and loved the playing of Tony, Geezer and Bill....and especially as both Tony and Bill being jazz fans themselves ( after all it was Django Reinhardt who inspired Tony after his accident in the factory). God bless them - they are legends!!!

I think you're right, the other bands will all play Sabbath songs, and Ozzy and the boys will do a short set. Because realistically that's all they could do. God bless Ozzy.

I'm with you on this one Phil - I hope it can be streamed for people like myself who are unable to travel or stand at a gig for any period of time. I pray that Ozzy can hold out on the day as it would be the ultimate ending to nearly 50 years of following this kind of music.

I’m a huge Sabbath fan, I have all their studio and live albums on vinyl and cd, box sets both vinyl and cd, DVD’s, bootlegs…..the only time I was finally able to see them, my wife and I had tickets for them in Halifax, NS in 2014….but then I got diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkins lymphoma, so my daughter and son-in-law got to see them instead, they said it was an amazing show….having said that I’m not sure what kind of show they can put on now with Ozzy and Bill’s health issues….but I wish them all the best….they’ve given us a lifetime of amazing music….

Hi, Phil I can almost see the tears in your eyes as this will clearly close the final chapter of Sabbath in a good way. First and foremost the money will go to worthy causes so no cash grab here. I think it will play out exactly as you say, lots of bands paying homage and a short set from Sabbath. Given the number of acts/guests and equipment changes from midday there's no chance of a two hour set from Sabbath, plus all the health issues of Ozzy. I honestly hope that the fans get the tickets and not all these Jonny come lately types, Kate Moss/ Hammond and crew who are just there for a photo opportunity - alla Zeppelin reunion in 07. I've never seen or met an ordinary soul who managed to get a ticket for that event.I won't be there as I choose to remember Sabbath when I saw them in 81, 82, 98 and 99. I wish them all the best for a proper final bow. Keep on spinning. Best Regards Martin

That's awesome that the original members of Black Sabbath are getting back together after two decades and performing one last show I hope it's captured on film for the world to see and then eventually put on 7.1 Dolby Atmos PCM Blu-ray at least I was fortunate to see Black Sabbath live 1972 at the Hollywood bowl I had front row box seats Black Sabbath was banned for life for playing too loud the sound of the concert was fat with heavy Bass and of course Ozzy's young voice was screaming perfect Long live Black Sabbath

Amazing, would love to see them back together on stage for one last time, I first heard their debut album back in 1970 when I was 10 years old, it blew my tiny mind & I have never been the same again, for which I will be forever grateful. I saw the live in 1976 on the Technical Ecstasy tour at the Liverpool Empire, still one of the best gigs I have ever seen. Great to see that all the money will also be going to charity. Those four guys are my Gods

They’re doing ANOTHER last ever gig??! 😂 Amazing line up to be honest and I’d love to go. Rumoured that tickets start at £87.50, but good luck getting one anywhere near that price. I suspect £300 plus is more realistic. If they’re using Oasis style dynamic pricing they could go well above a grand! Hopefully I’m wrong. I’ll buy the DVD……are they still a thing???
@rimaxxamir177459 минут бұрын
I hope that, if not the band itself, then at least some of the other bands will pay hommage to and play tracks from the Dio, Gillan and Martin era as well..

I think I am going to have to wait for the dvd. I would love to see Sabbath, but I am afraid that a half hour or forty minute set will not be enough to satisfy. I know that it is unrealistic for anyone to expect a long set considering it would be a difficult task for all of the members, especially Ozzy. Although they are a lot of other great artists that will be participating and celebrating the music of Sabbath. I am sure that it will be a great day of celebration. As RJD once sung "long live rock n roll".🤘

Historical event, glad it's happening with Bill more importantly. Not particularly interested on hearing Corgan, Draiman, Davis or Hale playing Sabbath covers, to be honest though, the choice of guesting bands not of my liking, imagine having Purple, Priest or Scorpions sharing stage with them instead, or giving the non-Ozzy era members some recognition.

I was pleased by *BS* during their *the end tour* in vienna on june, 6th 2016! 😎 tommy clufetos did a good job, no doubt about it, but he isn't bill, not at all, 'cause he lacks that jazzdrumming brackground that bill evolved to a metal style!!! it's all about the groove in the heavyness. just get an imagination of bill performing at paris 1971 playing *war pigs* . fantastic, awesome and amazing when you can see him creating a whole new drumming style, that didn't exist before!!! god bless him to show off in birmingham again! 😇

‘The last concert’ now where have I heard that before? I’ve seen Ozzy play about 5 ‘final’ concerts now and paid through the nose for all of them. Bill Ward is the final piece of the jigsaw. This will be massively oversubscribed of course. I would love to be there but I don't pay silly money for gigs anymore as I have seen almost everyone I have wanted to. I would buy a Blu Ray or DVD and an album (three discs please looking at the talent list). Are they one of my favourite bands - no. They would have to get past Iron Maiden, Saxon, Judas Priest and Magnum to do that - but I appreciate the influence they have had on others (notably Metallica and therefore Megadeath etc). I hope it will be broadcast on one platform or another though.
