Just because you once in your life supported one candidate of one specific party, doesn't make you a member, does it? The US is weird that way... As an Italian I supported and voted for several parties during my lifetime, but I do not identify myself with any of them. I just vote according to what eligible parties are trying to do to address current issues regarding the state of my country. There are different parties in every election anyway...
