New Zealand designed boat from Purekraft. Flat pack kit in an 8.1m Hardtop

Liked the whole assembly, nice job. One thing I would recommend is a radar mast, as that's really a must when you have an offshore boat. The other recommendation is that the antenna's need to go up on the mast as your radio signal only goes as far as the antenna is high. Roughly for every 16 feet an antenna is in the air you get 1 mile of communication by radio.

Thanks Kaka, Mariton Marine is a aluminium boat building business but unfortunately they could finish my project. Like for me the guys (Daniel and Jacko) at Metal & Marine have taken on the job to complete of the fabrication work.

Does anyone know how to remove the flaming surface of the plate? can you use any means to get the plate in one and the same surface. I don't mean painting the hull, just being able to have the hull not painted only aluminum colored.

That frame is supper heavy duty, only thing I want to know is if it's too Ridgid wouldn't it start to crack?

Good possibility… but with the load dispersion, I really don’t think it’ll be too much of an issue.

Nice! what is the thickness of the hull? what is the welder that you used and does it require 3-phase power?

It 6mm plate for the hull, 4mm sides. Welder is 270WIA mig welder, 3 phase required.

I have a question was the hull put in an oven after final weld ? Stress cracks plague aluminum boats if not heated. Experience here!

Yes after the full longitudinal welds have been completed

@@Micington yeah man i spent 13hrs on the top of the bottom of a Munson boat due to stress cracks, and the fwd bulkhead had no limber holes, or bilge pump. Compartment filled up while running with cargo onboard. Capsized in 40deg water ,35kt north winds Munson just welds the boats no oven time.

@@Micington yeah had 2 deckhands with me We are ok. Hugged it out all night. Bodyheat that was 2018 december 21. The day of the government shutdown. Coast guard called twice 1am and 3am by ship pilots. They never came. Got rescued by a tug and barge at 730am. We departed at 630pm the previous night.
