I was asked if I could build a small fast aluminium catamaran for a customer in the south west of England. With a blank canvas and a modest budget I set to work. Here is the build log. See the video of her trails on my page.

By home I mean I designed it in my couch at home on a laptop then built it in my grandads old silo where I make all the boats. Iv lived here and called it home for my whole 36 years of life. I’m just 1 person company and I draw and build all the boats on on my page. I do hire help when things get heavy but generally what you see is me. At home. Cheers. Im glad you like it.

Do you hang the welder from above just for ease of maneuvering around?

Mostly for that and it really helps the aluminium wire work with a 4m torch smoothly

Well I designed and built it to the all welded stage ready to fit out for under £18000. Unfortunately since then the price of aluminium has gone up a lot.

Does the owner find this hull design to be right for their use? I think it looks great, but have no ability to evaluate the function.

@@kevinhornbuckle hi, I’m in contact with Chris the owner regularly and he has only good to say about the little cat. The only thing that happens he has said is at a certain speed around 27 -28 knots a little bit of very fine mist will come out of the tunnel when going with the wind and wet the windscreen. Any speed either side of that and it doesn’t happen. Iv built a second one myself now and there are orders for 3-4&5 now in various layouts. I hope to have a video of no2 on soon once I get to sea trails. Cheers
