Outside GFI - even though it is "weatherproof" - silicon seal it - water will sneak in, especially where you "hard water - snow" . Second thing - when you run wire to an outlet from above, don't run it straight in - run it down, and then back up (even if only an inch or two inside the box - why? If there is condensation in the walls, and it finds the natural channels (cable runs), it will wick down the wires - if it runs into the outlet, it can cause a short - if you take the wire down and back up again, it will drip off the bump at the bottom, rather than running into the switch or outlet.

When you cut screws with your wire cutters have the part you want to use screwed into the side of your pliers that has the threads in it so when you turn the screw out of the pliers the threads of the pliers will chase the damage threads thus preparing your screw that you cut for use with out any trouble from having a bad thread because there won’t be a bad thread left.

I have found bats. A vet friend really got on my case as when they are on ground there is high percentage of having rabies. Cool to see. I had racoon last night that tore off a soffit, climbed around attic, pushed stairway down part way, then to 7 poos on my patio that fortunately has 3 sliders that were closed. Finally after a face to face including flashlight and knocking on window from inside, I decided it was time to let it alone. It finally took the easy path out (I opened the slider to the outside). Trapping this guy and his multiple friends finally. Had 6 about 3 years ago and trapped them all. Nice to be in wilderness but beware of racoons. Great project. You did a great job. KUDOS

Here's another hint. On the back of the box cover plate put the breaker # that corresponds to each switch and or recepticial with a sharpie. Sure saves time when you need to do any work on that line and you need to shut the correct breaker. Especially when there are more than one outlet/switch attached and you have limited room for words next to the breaker switch in the main panel. Just a suggestion since you have so many installed already even without the upstairs being done yet.

Jessie, by now you've probably figured out that you put the screw through the wrong side of the striper/cutters to shorten the screw. Two reasons. First how did you get the scrap portion of the screw out of the threaded part of the cutters, now that it doesn't have a head ? Second if you had put the screw through the right way then as you back it out it will straighten the cut tip of the thread. This secondary part might not be evident in a plastic box but that mashed thread, especially if your plyers are worn, will reveal it's self in a metal threaded box.
