Thank you very much for these words!! I am clearly taking a lot of time to think about, write, produce the video! I really do my best to make the content I want to watch on KZbin! I may disturb some because of the amount of information and time before any sound comparison is listenable! But I like how it turned out and how instructive it can be for someone discovering this! Thank you again! Cheers from France

I have to agree with you that the blaster seems to be the best sounding of all. Five months ago I put a custom 20 on my 14X8 Tama maple snare and it was a big improvement for that particular drum. Thanks for sharing your experience.

This is a very good test video as the factors from one set to the next are very controlled. My only "complaint" is that you didn't do any rolls. That would have really been a great thing to test as it would clearly demonstrate how each set of wires would sustain during continuous usage as well as their overall sensitivity. Otherwise, very well done. I have been using the Super 30 wires since the mid 80's. I love the extra sound from the wires and with just the right amount of wire tension, never ever over choking, it really suits my playing style. I also prefer medium high to high batter head tensions as well with no muffling.

Thank you so much for watching and your feedback! I totally understand your point, and I would have thought about it! I kept the same patterns I did for the previous videos about Evans Drumheads, and didn’t really think about modifying it 😅 I will know it for the future! Super 30 is too much for me ahaha I tend to love 20 strands the most. And also, high tension heads 🙏🏻

Hey! Thanks for the video-it’s super helpful. I’m having some trouble with a similar snare drum setup (the brass Starphonic with the Custom Pro Brass 20 wires). No matter how I tune the heads, I get this annoying zingy sound from the wires, especially when I hit the drum closer to the rim. I’ve noticed that the ends of the wires don’t touch the reso head on either side-they rise slightly, which I suspect might be the issue. When I place the wires on a flat surface, I see the same thing. Do you notice this on your drum too, or could it be that my wires are defective?
@ThomasCremier7 күн бұрын
Hi there! Hope you’re doing great! Thank you for your comment and watching the video! I am sorry to read that you have issues with your snare drum tone… The first thing I would check is the bottom rim, if it is straight or not. Then the tuning of the reso head to see if it doesn’t have any weird resonances that could make the strands vibrate annoyingly. As for the snare wires itself, the plates on the Pro models are shaped with edges that separate the metal part from the head, I show it on this video. If everything is straight and well tuned and you still have the issue, you could check if the metal part or not properly shaped! I hope it helps! Cheers from France 😉

I normally use the custom pro steel wires, but I bought a set of the blaster wires, and at first I didn't like them. I don't muffle my drums (other than pre - muffled heads, Aquarian studio X with a power dot) so my snare is loud anyway, but when I put the blasters on. WOW the difference between volume level was off the chain different. At first I had to force myself to leave the blaster wires on. Because my ear was used to the custom pro sound. After about a week of playing the blaster wires, messing around with tension and head tension, I actually like them better now. Important note: the custom pro wires sound better with a higher tension, but the blaster wires sound better with a looser tension. The sensitivity of both is great at the right tension. The blaster is just that (blasting loud), they sound killer with an aggressive back beat. They are cracking out in the room, more so than the custom pro wires. I would like to try the brass custom pro wires. I have a feeling they would be a great marriage between the blaster and the custom pro.

Thank you for your detailed comment! That means a lot for me to read such complete thoughts! That's exactly what I think too, the Blaster adds SO much to the power of the snare hits! For metal drummers, this is the way to go. The Custom Pro Brass is my second favourite as it is very bright and precise. I am sure you will like it! I use the Custom Pro Brass 20 and the Blaster on my snares! Tell me if you have the chance to try out the Brass series 😉 Cheers from France!

Man... what level!!! Wonderful... thank you so much... l prefer the third one: custom with 16 strands. It s the right balance between the snare wires and the resonance of the drum. A question: these are ALL the models that puresound do? Thank so much... go on drummer PS l know that also Canopus makes good snare wires... never tried... l used puresound in the last decade.

Thank you so much for watching and your really positive feedback !! ✨ Happy you like the Custom 16 ! It is a really nice one, straight to the point and ultra effective ! To answer to your question, it is a great blend of what they produce for drum set. The whole range has more models with different strands counts: - the Custom line offers 16, 29 and 24 strands for 14", but exists also in 12" up to 15" with different counts, - they also have snare wires for concert snares and pearl free floating especially So lets say my comparison video presents all the models but not with all the strands available 😉 I never heard Canopus before, and I have almost been playing with Puresound only ! Cheers from France !

Does anyone else here, have any issues with those Puresound quick attach pins, dropping off at random moments while playing?
@ThomasCremier2 ай бұрын
I discovered that some have that issue! But I never had any problems with these. There is a slot in which the locking pins have to be in, if it can help! I think it might happen if you set your wires pretty loose, as there is more movement and vibrations
