It's sad that Oliver died, he's the only one who cared (offering her his Cleaver and reminds Enri that she doesn't have to enter inside) and saved Enri from her almost death despite she's not his friend or someone she knew. I really like how the Cleaver doesn't break but the other weapon does, it seems like symbolizing that Oliver is really genuine.

Maybe the whole spider dungeon was like a personal trial for Enri? Like, at first, Emma seemed as though she was your friend when she was introduced but we soon noticed how she was just using Enri for her own personal gain, claiming she's too weak to do those things on her own. The same can be said for Mr. Spider. Even though you mostly thought you might just straight up die from it, it does nothing to you. In fact, it even goes as far as grabbing the iron key that was out of your reach and having a cute picture in the menu. It kind of fits with how every time you got a new weapon it would show in the menu, so by that logic you would think Mr. Spider was like a partner/pet that's going to help you out of here. I mean, it's so small and adorable, YOU would probably have to protect it from getting killed. But then you see it eating the remains of dead bodies, getting bigger and stronger and you noticed maybe it's not as harmless to you as you think? But maybe that's a good thing since if that Butcher comes along, now you got a beefed up Mr. Spider on your side to fight it. But when you actually get trapped in the puzzle room with the flesh walls, it straight up abandons you and WILL let you die if you don't solve it in time. By now, Mr. Spider mirrors the relationship Enri had with Emma. How these seemingly weak characters used Enri for their own personal gains and if Enri doesn't stand up for herself and get them out of her life, they'd end up killing her in one way or another. Like how constantly listening to Emma's "requests" got her trapped in a literal purgatory on earth, where as ignoring Mr. Spider's obvious warning signs would end up with Enri getting eaten once Mr. Spider becomes strong enough to not need her anymore. I don't know if the game has a real moral to it or not, but what I could take from it that you should be careful of people who say/act like they're your friend and that actions speak louder than words or deceitful first impressions. I mean, Oliver wasn't your friend or someone you knew at all, but they showed more genuine concern for you than anyone else in the story and ended up dying to protect you when he could have easily used you as bait to save himself. Maybe the cleaver represent the genuine bond between Oliver and Enri, since every other weapon/item you get break and is eventually replaced, but the cleaver always stays with you and never breaks, no matter how much you uses it. It' what I got from this at least. >

My guess is... taking the Demonic Axe and NOT using it to break the coccoon, instead taking the elevator up. That means it should still be in your possession, without you being 'chosen' by the Axe so you don't get the demonic aura. That's one thing that could still be tried, i guess.

So here's my take on this all: -The Cleaver, a weapon given by the kind and supportive Oliver, didn't break as opposed to the original axe. Thanks to a comment floating around here somewhere, I'm now compelled to think that the Cleaver symbolizes the unbreakable bond and trust that both Enri and Oliver shared. The clever being by Enri's side all this time could also represent the fact that Oliver is still supporting her, even in death. Fucking better love story than Twilight. -The fact that Enri couldn't put her original blue dress on because her hands were bloodied symbolizes her loss of -child- innocence. After going through so much shit and witnessing the most gruesome slaughtering, the thought of wearing something so pure when she's been far beyond tainted never occurred. -The demonic Axe symbolizes Enri's entire fall into depravity. She's been soiled to the point of almost no return, until she enters the spiders cavern. -Now the spider could symbolize Emma. She follows Enri through the nest of webs, and even fetches a key for her; But when the time for every man for themselves arrives, Emma takes the easy route and literally leaves Enri to die. And when Enri does indeed succeed in accomplishing the trial, the spider sticks to her as if nothings ever happened, which could symbolize Emma's two-timing and meekness. Also, whenever the spider comes across a dead body, it consumes it whole and grows bigger, representing Emma's eating away at people's trust. After eating enough and becoming powerful enough, the spider eats Enri. That's all I've gathered so far.

You notice throughout the entire story, Enri facial expressions are really cute. Even at the ending during the comedic skits. I wonder if Enri is exactly the same as she previously was when she left the place except now she had the power to summon a demonic axe to cut stuff out of her way. This is hands down the best playthrough. The peak of ultimate gameplay. It was funny, bloody, a demonic axe deems you it's worthy wielder after going through a spiritual spider journey, you get some nice comedic afterstory, and a sequel is in the making (with one of the best reactions to it)

I honestly, I used to be a mute when I was younger. Thankfully by high school I’m way more talkative and have learned to communicate better. But for some reason the protagonist being mute in this game made me relate, especially when I have episodes or hallucinations like this that are nightmare-ish. I unironically love this game! As an autistic person, I feel really represented by the protagonist. I interpret her as being non-verbal autistic. Her experience of being manipulated into doing things because "we're best friends" when the so-called friend is just using her, that's an experience that a lot of autistic people have (myself included) because we tend to be really trusting and don't understand subtext unless it's been explicitly spelled out to us. Ex. When someone says "nice haircut," but mean it as sarcasm, we don't always catch on. And then the spider dungeon?! Omg, an amazing analogy!! Just because the spider helped you once, that doesn't mean it's your best friend and won't eat you as soon as it gets the chance! I wish I had discovered this game when I was in high school, would've been eye-opening and probably would've saved me a lot of heartache and wasted energy on toxic "friend"ships. Thank you for playing this game! I wouldn't have discovered it otherwise! Sending this video to all my autistic friends so we can rewatch it over and over and gush over it! 🥰
