Hi if you don't mind me asking, would it be more effective to connect the GroundMaster to the mains conditioner or to the ground casework for the setup etc Preamp in this video? If for the setup meaning we would need few GroundMaster and ground rods for each equipment like preamp, phono stage, CD player, power amp etc?

Ideally you would connect to the mains conditioner or other power distribution block serving just your hi-fi if this has a starred earth system. Optimising ground connections is a black art not helped by a total lack of standardisation / commonality between safety ground/earth, chassis ground/earth and signal ground/earth which may or may not be one and the same in different combinations between different items of equipment and as is further confused as you connect one item to another through their signal grounds. So there is no definitive answer except to try different combinations to find the best sounding. You only ever need one Groundmaster connected to a point as above which will reduce noise on the earth/ground of all locally connected components.

​@@mikelester9390 Thanks for the reply, when you mentioned only needing one groundmaster, I'm assuming is one groundmaster connecting to a mains conditioner with starred earth system right? not by connecting all components casework into the groundmaster as that will introduce ground loop? Cheers!

@@cheepong1987 Yes , what you are doing with the GroundMaster is quieting the noise on the safety earth/ground of your mains electricity power out of the wall as would otherwise be introduced to entire system ground including signal grounds. Its a very neat trick and can work wonders.

I have just received a Ground Master and was wondering where to connect the supplied earth wire as there is no indication in the enclosed document , perhaps that information could have been included? I suspect I will connect the earth wire to my PSM156 though. I must take this opportunity to say how very impressed I have been with the PSM156, I consider it to be the best accessory I have ever added to my HiFi. For audio enthusiasts present and future the PSM156 should be the first piece of audio equipment to acquire, the basic building block, the cornerstone, it’s that important.

@@tomgray6093 Connect the wire from your ground rod to the black terminal and connect the green terminal to the green earthing post on the back your PSM156. This will quieten down all ground connections in the system. So glad that you are enjoying the PSM156, it's a great piece of kit.

Very interesting! Can you tell me more about your measurement system? What are you measuring on the monitor (frequency spectrum?) and how are you making this measurement? Just curious how you measure noise on ground?

Shown is a time domain measurement of voltages taken on a slow sweep at a very wide bandwidth to maximize event capture.
