I purchased one from Brock as well. Great journal. I have 3 Moleskines in it. I use one for Bible study, one for prayer and one for work/meeting stuff. I'm one of the pastors at a large church. Thanks for the great review Matthew!

Off subject but I was wondering Pastor Matt, since you are Presbyterian, at what point in doctrine you disagree with southern Baptists? I'm not asking at all to start argument or even try and pull you into long discussion... Purely out of curiosity. I've watched several of your videos and I like what you have to say. But I haven't seen any that discuss your doctinal beliefs. Thanks.

Presbyterians differ with Baptists on the subject of infant baptism and some distinctives of covenant theology. If the Southern Baptist is not Reformed in soteriology, then a Presbyterian would also disagree with them and hold to the five point of Calvinism. Most Presbyterians are also confessional, holding the Westminster Standards as their confession of faith. Presbyterian churches are also governed by a body of elders, with the elders being made up of a teaching elder (the Pastor) and ruling elders. There are more minor differences between Southern Baptists and Reformed Presbyterians, but these are the main ones. Hope this helps.

I should make a video on that. Long and short of it is this: if you are a Baptist that confesses the London Baptist Confession of 1689, our confessions of faith are virtually identical since the 1689 was a slight revision of our 1647 Westminster Confession. Obviously, we are covenantal in baptism (paedobaptist) and you are not. So there's that. If you are of the Arminian baptist kind (freewill as over against particular baptist) then our systems have greater variance in some of the big-idea concepts like sovereignty, predestination etc. If you are also premillennail/dispensational, then the differences run even deeper, since we are typically amillennial in our eschatology. Having said that: we together hold the center is true: Trinity, inspiration of Scripture, miracles, life death and resurrection of Christ, Holy Spirit at Pentecost, second coming, heaven, hell and more. So the shared center is always greater than the differences among born again Christians.
