Story time: Back in 2012 I went camping with my grandparents in Penticton, BC, Canada. We invited the couple that were staying next to us in the campsite over for happy hour, drink a bottle of wine and have some snacks. I was talking with the lady and we got on the conversation of how I just graduated audio school in Vancouver. She says her daughter makes music and is in a group called Purity Ring, out of Edmonton. I didn't think much of it but a couple years later I remembered the conversation and looked them up. Sure enough, there they were. Now it's 2021 and I've been listening to their music for a while. Cool stuff ✌️🍁

Another season of Search Party ends and i'm here again Obedear stuck in my head. As much as i love the series, tbh the song had a lot to do with me getting hooked on SP back in season 1. The song wasn't originally written for the series but this might be one of the all-time best theme songs.

I came upon Purity Ring by chance, first song I heard was belispeak. My grandmother raised me, I have a very patchy past. Their song Asido saved me from hitting rock bottom. This girl truly heals my traumatized inner child somehow. ❤

#danthemanplaylists LYRICS: I came down over the sleeping mountains Where our white tones plunged Into the weeping shelter Tear our skin up out from the bottom Leaves our ankles bare Don't just wander back and forth and leave it Build it into Pinnacles and shrines Of some, Some ghastly predicament in mind You'll find Leaves us plastered to a bed of hairs We'll be all coiled up near the bottom With my chest, unbare it Obedear, the sky is low Gather up its harm and gods With grateful arms Obedear, the sky is low Gather up its harm and gods With grateful arms Obedear, the sky is low Watch fluids seem and rid their rudders Oh, they'll Grace it with their wind arrows 'Tis in the feathers that, that They branch below, low Oh my dreams, Come back to me, back to me Back to... All my wrinkles, Build on me, build on me Build on... Obedear, the sky is low Gather up its harm and gods With grateful arms Obedear, the sky is low Gather up its harm and gods With grateful arms

Everyone has their songs that immediately remind them of summer nights from their youth. To me this is one of these. I'm 27 as I type this in 2020. In 2012 we'd blast this song in my friends car while just driving through the middle of nowhere in the middle of a saturday night just to hang out in some place far away from anyone else. Completely empty streets at 3AM driving around to this song. Out of the 4 people sitting in the car back then I only have contact to 1 of them anymore nowardays. And even with that 1 person it is becoming rare that we see each other. Hard to believe this was 8 years ago.. Even more hard to believe I was only 19 then. It still kind of feels like it was only 2-3 years ago. Growing up hurts. It drains all life out of you so quickly. If anyone who is still "young" ( as in like 16-20) reads this: Live your life to the fullest. Time flies and you will be old really quickly and then you will live for nothing but for your job. That's the truth about "adult life". Make sure to take care of all your friendships. Losing contact to friends happens so quickly once you enter the horrible full time job life.

@cap55754 жыл бұрын
@@iApolloZero idk, I'm not sure it's simply just perspective. More to do with what paths you take and when you take them; decisions you make and priorities you set. I feel much older now than I did in 2012 but that's not inherently a bad thing. I have a beautiful baby boy now, beautiful wife and overall good life and I prioritize to maintain all that. It's a bit more draining and aging but it's fulfilling and that little baby boy makes me happier than anything ever has or could. I don't intend this as an argument, just an opinion Regardless, cheers to your continued youth! May it always be so for you.
