Finally a video that explains when you want a right leaning increase on the knit side, but you have to decrease on the purl side, you need to p2tog, and when you want a left leaning increase on the knit side, but you have to decrease on the purl side, you need to ssp.

Ah, I *knew* you would have the answer I was looking for! I started knitting Portuguese style and I just did a hat inside out and when I got to the crown decreases, I just did P2tog bc it was all I knew. This is such helpful information.

Thank you for being a current contributor of videos. I'm working with a 1940 era pattern and all it says is to decrease every row, yikes! I'm not experienced enough to know what to do, so you have solved my problem. Also, thank you for giving clear instructions, very easy to follow. I look forward to learning more from you. :)

OMG, Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU, so much. I was knitting a pair of socks using the fleegle heel method and I just couldn't get both sides to look the same. I just knew that Roxanne would have the answer I needed. I will try to post a pic over on Ravelry if I can figure out how, I am tech impaired but I just wish you could see the difference. It is amazing how much I learn here.

Thank you Rox for easy to follow instructions, you are extremely easy to watch and understand and although I knitted many years ago, many things are different and I'm excited to learn the correct and best ways to do things this time round. Have a great day.

Thank you Roxanne, very clear and helpful. I can't please find the subsequent video you announced, when you would talk about how to choose a knit or purl decrease when you work 2 sts tog that are not the same.

Hi I am working a pattern that someone gave me for a hat and I think that it is written for their understanding. It reads to end of the wrong side - does that mean that I stop on the right then decrease on the wrong side of the work. hope you can help thank you

Please make a video on how to do multiple purl decreases of 2, 3, or 4 stitches. I can't find any.

7:10 I figured out that an easier way to do an ssp is first to change the order of the two stitches as if you were wanting to do a left cross and then purl the two stitches together normally. No need to slip as if to knit onto the right-hand needle and then return them to the left-hand needle. No need to purl through the back loops. This method also works for an ssk, though I don’t know that it makes it easier. If you switch the order of the two stitches like you’re making a left cross, then you can knit them together normally.

The SSP looks neater on the front. If a person decreased for a raglan sleeve standardly on the front with K2Tog on the left side of the fabric but did the SSP which comes out on the front of the fabric and left leaning and it looks better, despite that it is done on another row, it will look better on the front, wouldn't it?

I have done this a couple of times on projects, but it's an option only if you are knitting flat! :-)
