Purple /Blue Emperor Tetra or Royal Emperor (Inpaichthys kerri) Species Profile

The Purple Emperor Tetra (Inpaichthys kerri) is found in sluggish tributaries off the main river channels of the Rio Aripuanã and upper Rio Madeira basins, in Brazil and are known to tropical fish keeping enthusiasts as the Blue Emperor Tetra, Inpaichthys Tetra, Regal Emperor Tetra, or Royal Emperor Tetra. The Purple Emperor Tetra is colored a brilliant purple blue with a black to purplish line running from the mouth of fish to the base of the caudal fin. The translucent ventral, anal and caudal fins are tinged yellow and their dorsal fins are colored various shades of red. Both sexes possess an adipose fin and males are generally more brightly colored and less plump than females.

Can it be fed only pellets and flakes with sterilized blood worms and black worms but not Heart mix foods bcz the particles dissolves in the water and elevate Ammonia parameters.

Yes! I have a Discus tank that has about a school of 18 and they do great!

I have, but The temperatures can be hard on them without extra oxygen offered with a few big air stones. Beautiful fish.

Perfect! You can add some Cory's of your choice, Siamese Algae Eatr and a Panda Garr for cleanup crew. Make sure tank is mature and has been running a while.
