I live in Germany and used to visit a glasblower manufactory in the Harz mountains as a child. One was allowed to watch the glas blowing but I could never watch the full prozess. I really enjoy watching your videos! This purple vase is amazing!

People make punties different ways. Lots of people make them with almost no glass off the end, and rounded or pointed. Murano glassblowers will make punties like this, apply them hot.

So it looked like you pulled a neck on this piece three times over. Were the first two just for practice?

Good question! That’s essentially correct. I wasn’t getting the lip shape I wanted so I ended up cutting off more than I wanted to. I’m happy with how the piece came out, but originally I wanted the neck to be longer and wider at the lip.
