​@@shylaairvine4935 well, what are you trying to go for? You wanna stick with blonde for a bit? If so, then yes and no. Pink is a desaturated tint of magenta/ a purle-leaning red. So a very, very desaturated yellow-leaning green toner should do it. Be careful tho! Some dyes have different strengths of pigments in them, so it might turn a different colour than expected on your hair. Always do a test strand...

Im a cosmetologist. For anyone that wants an actual answer on which to buy, it depends on how yellow/orange the blonde is before toning it. If you are a person who can't get to platinum blonde or you dont want "white blonde" hair and before toning, it's usually a more orangey gold color, use the blue shampoo. If you have very light blonde hair prior to toning and it looks more yellow/pale yellow, use purple shampoo. The opposite of yellow on the color wheel is purple and the opposite of orange is blue, so use that to determine whether you use blue or purple. If youre hair the opposite of gold is technically violet but a lot of companies use violet and purple interchangeably so use your best guess. Basically, if purple shampoo hasn't worked out for you, your blonde may be too dark and you may need a blue shampoo. Pro tip: do not use blue or purple shampoo right after getting your hair colored, and do not use it every time you wash your hair. Both of these will make your blonde look muddy and can stain the hair.

I paused and screencap and the two extensions look the same because none of them where leaning into greenish or orangey. They where both perfect balanced platinum so nothing to compensate. If the blonde becomes green, go for the purple. If the blonde becomes orangey, blue shampoo to the rescue! 😉. Hope it helped. 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤

Basic color theory: purple cancels out yellow, blue does the same for orange. When you bleach hair to a blond, it will have a yellow undertone, so purple is most effective. With brown hair though, blue is more effective as it cancels out the orange undertone.

And remember that Miss Color Theory works exactly the same everywhere, skin, i.e.😉. Orangey-salmon will cancel blue 🟠🔵 and purple' s little sister, lavender, will cancel yellow🟣🟡. Notice that I used the verb cancel, not _correct_ please. If you love your blue undereye and veins, your yellow cetrine undertone or whatever, not only there' s nothing to correct but feel free to enhance it even more!! 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤

I have silver white hair. Purple shampoo is the greatest thing for my hair, not just the color but the part where it removes mineral gunk deposited by the water (I assume that’s what it is). It’s not all about blonde hair, older silver foxes need shampoo too.

bc of the color wheel, blue shampoo would (in theory) cancel out orange colors in hair, while purple would cancel out yellow. so if you tried bleaching your hair from black to blonde and it looked a bit orange after blue shampoo would ge better. but if you needed to get yellow out of your hair, purple shampoo would cancel that out.

Both are good for different undertones, and what you’re doing is cancelling out one or the other. If the hair has an orangey look you’d use blue to cancel out the orange, whereas you’d use purple for a green undertone. It’s just like color correcting makeup- you use green over redness, blue over yellow, red over green, and yellow over blue

Im not a hairdresser but I am an artist. If it works the same way as when I paint, when I want to dull a bright colour down I use the colour opposite to it on the colour wheel. Blue is opposite to orange and purple is to yellow. I'm guessing if your hair is more of an orange colour you are best to use blue. Yellow and blue also make green so I don't know if it works the same with hair

Purple cancels out yellow. Check your color wheel if you have one. Purple and yellow are complementary or opposite colors . (Minnesota Vikings for example is purple and yellow and the list goes on and so forth. ) 😊 🎉. The blue and yellow doesn’t ,soooo, it would backfire and your hair would get messed up with a weird color or tint. Blue shampoo works better on brassy brunettes (dark oranges ) blue and orange are complementary colors too. (Denver Broncos colors) 👍🏾

I use matrix total results brass off shampoo. It’s a dark blue-purple shampoo. I use it on my level 5-8 hair and it always works. If your hair is lighter you shouldn’t leave it on too long

That's the whole point of these shampoos- it's too take out the extra pigments that could potentially change your pigments in your hairdye. I use purple shampoo too neutralize my hair. When I bleach it it ends up with a yellow hue. The purple shampoo neutralizes the yellow hue in your hair to make it more white. why? So your blue hairdye doesn't end up nasty green. Or your red doesn't end up dirty orange

Blue neutralizes orange and purple neutralizes yellow, due to them being complimentary colors on the color wheel (complimentary just means opposites). So if you have level 7 or 8 brassy, orange hair (typically if you have darker hair before lightening you can end up with orange undertones) use a blue based shampoo. If you have more yellow brass (brassy just like like a raw lift with bleach that hasn't been toned or maybe your toner has faded but you lifted really light) use a purple shampoo. If you still don't understand get a blue violet shampoo 😂

Well... Are you trying to lighten your hair, or darken it? Uv bleaching will have the purple, uvb, making you blonder, and the blue, uva, will typically have it staying closer to the same... Simply from residues alone
