I just took delivery of a new Toro Power Max 826 OAE snowblower. The first thing I always do before starting the engine is to check the oil. Also, my engine surges badly when started and off and on when in use. I've had it back to the dealer for warranty service, but saw no improvement in the surging when I picked it up. I've never had a 4 cycle engine run like this. This is my first and last piece of Toro equipment that I plan to ever own.
@PurpleCollarLife2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. I've had nothing but positive experiences with my Toro Power Max 828 OAE machine.
@russellmaddock3492 Жыл бұрын
There is only one thing to make a small engine serge, and that is the carburetor. The engine is surging for lack of the right fuel air mixture. Your dealer should have either removed and checked for a defect or any partials in the carburetor that could cause an issue or replace it with a new one. I have had Toro snow blowers sense the early 80's with nothing but great performance. My latest one is a Toro Power Max HD 1232 that is a powerhouse of a snowblower. It takes all of 30 min to remove and clean a Toro carburetor. Even less to replace one. You should have insisted your dealer replace or fix the carburetor. The Toro Power Max HD machines are some of the best snow blowers on the market. Your problem could have occurred no matter what manufacture snow blower. Anything manmade can have a defect, that is what warranties are for. If your machine is not functioning as it should, then either demand it be fixed correctly or demand a refund or exchange for another machine, plain and simple.

Hello. I agree usually. And these snow blowers have the shutoff on the throttle - so it requires throttling down before shutting off. However, on my Toro zero turn, it actually has a sticker beside the throttle that says to shut off at full throttle. It's the first time I've ever seen that. It would take me forever to get our drive done with that, it takes me about 2hours with our Ventrac and 6ft plow.
@PurpleCollarLife3 жыл бұрын
I wasn't sure how long it would take with the snow blower versus the four wheeler and plow. It took longer with the snow blower, but also did a cleaner job. Over time, our long driveway gets more and more narrow when plowing snow because the quad only has so much pushing power. The snow blower really throws the snow away from the driveway.

We hope it was helpful for someone who is not familiar with snow blower operation. The references are obviously how to operate this particular Toro, since that's the machine we have. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Have you had any issues with the auger trigger not staying engaged for one handed operation?
@PurpleCollarLife3 жыл бұрын
Great question. I've not had any issues. My biggest issue is trying to remember that I don't have to actually hold that handle down all the time. :)

@@PurpleCollarLife the mechanism on mine barely engages. Gotta take it back to friggin Lake Front Mower to have them deal with it

At 03:20 regarding throttle , key ,prime,choke, gas what??!! went too fast camera too far everything else very helpful
@PurpleCollarLife2 жыл бұрын
Throttle up, key in, prime the bulb 3-8 times, choke, make sure the gas is turned on, press red electric start button, and return choke to "run" position. Thanks for watching! We didn't get great video of that process. Hopefully our newer videos are better. We continue to learn. :)

If you don't want to drag a long extension cord out and dig out an exterior wall plug in the cold, a milwaukee m18 battery and the inverter would probably supply enough juice for quite a few starts with just a short power cord.

Interesting idea!

@PurpleCollarLife just to note that I haven't tried it yet but my inverter should be in today and I am picking up my Toro on the 30th.
