I’m a Rams fan. In my Facebook Rams group their a ton of people complaining about the move. Its ridiculous the amount of spoiled fans we have. They care more about home-field advantage than peoples lives. It makes me ashamed of other Rams fans

Definitely the right decision. Terrible situation. I lived in Lahaina, Hawaii for most of 2021, and it’s still very painful to know what happened to a place that’s very near and dear to me and that I called home. I empathize with the people in L.A. and all that they’ve lost. Prayers.

Excellent points Andy! I'm pleased that the NFL made the decision tonight, rather than waiting day after day to see what will happen. I hope that Rams fans will be able to organize buses, car pooling, accommodation in Glendale/Phoenix so they can still attend the game...and I hope that Vikes fans can make the changes necessary to get to Phoenix. Of course, I shall continue to have my thoughts & prayers for the families of victims, those who have lost their homes, those whose homes are threatened, AND the brave firefighters & other professionals doing their civic dutry to fight the fires, evacuate families, and take care of displaced families! p.s. I guess this will be a game on natural grass, right? I can't remember if SoFi stadium is natural grass....

It is. Arizona has a cool system where the field is essentially on rollers that allow it to roll outside and be in the sun when not being used.

My guess is that Vikings receivers are used to artificial turf, while LA Ram's receivers seem to be built for natural grass. However, the Vikes' Aaron Jones played his entire on a natural grass/badly mangled field until he joined the Vikes, so he should be good with it. Overall, I would think that the Rams would be a bit more suited to natural grass, but I could be wrong..,,

As happens 99% of the time, Andy, your remarks & observations are spot on. And, if the Vikes don't beat the Rams in the friendly confines of State Farm Field they would likely never beat them in LA. Nonetheless, as I've stated in multiple KZbin channels for the last 2 games, I still contend that "which" Sam Darnold, the Prince or the Pumpkin, shows up for this game will dictate (yes, DICTATE) the outcome. As a combo, Jetts & Addison miss exceedingly few passes, and TJ & Speedy are nearly as competent. Thus, if the Darnold that hits these guys with passes on their numbers, i.e., the Prince, is playing, the Vikes will win. If the Darnold that I refer to as the "Pumpkin" shows up, I doubt that we have even a 50-50% chance of winning.

Because firefighters and other resources from other cities in California have been coming to LA to help battle the fires. So it's basically the same situation that Andy mentions where there wouldn't even be enough personnel (first responders, etc) to service the game if it happened in another California stadium.

If there was any home field advantage, it's gone now. If you add in the mental stress for LA players and coaches that have homes in the fire areas, it's really not going to be a slam dunk either way.
