Denny Greene cost the Vikings the 1998 NFCCG. Ask anyone now what to do in that situation and NO ONE will choose what Greene did. There's 30 seconds left, the score is tied 27-27, you have the ball and at the time the most potent, high scoring offense in NFL history and a good but not great defense, what do you do? A: go for it, try to get in FG range or get a TD? Or B: kneel it down and go to OT? No one but Denny is picking B.

Merry Chirstmas Andy! You are the go to Vikings podcaster and honestly the best in across the NFL! Watched your channel grow and I think my girl has become a bigger Jerome than me! Thank you for the content, happy new year, and Skol!

That game was lost with Cunningham INT late in first half when we should have ran clock out deep in our territory

I remember the 1998 season like it was yesterday. There were no expectations from the national media going into that season, the big dogs that year were the Niners, Packers, Cowboys, Bucs, Broncos and Steelers. The media didn't pay attention to us until we beat the Packers on MNF in Lambau Field. But that lost in the NFC Title Game was awful. I disagree with you about them playing not to lose in that game, though. Remember, we're up 20-7 before halftime and our offense went for the kill shot by trying to throw the ball deep to Moss before halftime. Sadly, the Falcons' defender go his hand on Cunningham's arm and he fumbled. The Falcons recovered and scored and the game changed after that. Also, the Falcons' game plan was to shutdown Robert Smith and they did. We couldn't rush the ball in that game. But we still would've won easily had Moss caught an easy TD pass but he dropped it earlier in that game.

Good memory - bad time in Viking history. Add to it the RG dropped int and the jinxed "perfect all season" field goal attempt. Ughhh... An uncharacteristic amount of missed opportunities and mistakes by our beloved team. I recall John Madden state his palms were sweaty or something like while calling the game as he admired the intense, all out, empty the tank performance by both teams. The '98 o-line was better than what we have today. But it all comes down to mistakes. Bud Grant, back in the day, would preach the team that doesn't make mistakes wins. I think our 2024 team can win out and make Viking history - with little to no mistakes along the way. 👍

@@rcnthusiast Yeah, the 1998 team holds a special place in my memory. Until another team wins the Super Bowl, the 1998 team will always be the team for me. Hopefully, this year's team will change that! Back to the 1998 NFC Champ Game, the Falcons needed a TD to tie the game and our defense can't stop them. I know Gary Anderson got all the hate for missing that game sealing field goal but the defense deserve a ton of blame for not stopping the Falcons, too.

Keep forgetting that Falcons team was 14-2. Trap-ish game. Still shoulda take that one convincingly.

There is not much of a chance of Dallas Turner doing the diamond cutter because DDP sued someone for using it once
@SKOL_4_Life19 күн бұрын
Using it to make money will get you sued but you cant sue someone for dancing/celebrating will no intent on making $ 😊 Now if he starts calling himself diamond dallas then maybe trademark infringement🎉

they should buy the ufl as a minor league and relegate teams like they do in the premier league. i think that would make things much more interesting for bottom of the table team’s and incentivize teams to not give up at the end of the season in order to get better draft pics.

Andy your thoughts on gettin a 1st pick for darnold and rolling with both DJ or JJ next year? I think that’s why Kwesi got DJ

Get ufl to half of nfl 2 nfl teams sponsering ufl teams with max of 4 player maybe 8 per team assigned to ufl team plus one specialty coach like being one level higher then nfl spot per team the teams will be assigned 1 of each conference so no direct conflicts

Can we get Dexter Lawrence for Sammy D? Who is the best NG on the trading block ? If we improve OL DL and CB, we will be good with JJ and DJ at QB
