My samsung 55q7fna turns on with picture and sound the. 10-15 seconds later off. Im somewhat confused on the process but am i understanding correct that if i unplug the power board from the main board and turn the tv on i should have backlight? I do not and i tried replacing the main board but i suspect now its the power board. Any way to confirm this?

Good morning ☕️ Power Board is next likely cause of your tv malfunction. We recommend replacing Power Board. Below is a link to our Power Board replacement video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5uraI1jr8eajbssi=Q_BYaeSQFtDOVrF4 😎👍🧰

Can I please ask whether dismantling the TV and replacing a MAIN Board could possibly lead to issues/ failure on its power supply (static converter board), my TV turned on and off itself, after replacing the MAIN board, now it has no power and there is noise at the back of the unit, wondering whether it is caused by the replacement of the Main board, your answer would be really appreciated.

Thanks for watching, any update? It may be a loose connection or connection point not connected. Did you purchase the exact same replacement part number for your tv main board?

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Yes, the main board is fine, but the power supply does not work any more

@@nicoleniancisun9288 Thanks for the reply, have you tried powering the tv on by use of the power button on TV as opposed to remote starting?

I have an LG 3D tv that will not turn on. When i press the power button, i hear the click as if the tv will turn on, but the video and sound don't come on and the screen remains black as if off. Then the tv clicks again and power button turns off. Do you know what would cause this? Does this mean the main board or the main power board simply needs to be replaced? Thanks.

Thanks for watching & sharing this. In most cases, this will be due to a faulty Main Board. Please keep us posted. 😎👍

Hi Michael, I have a 50" Samsung flat screen about 7 years old. It went dead one day, no picture or sound, red light is on and blinking when tv turned on. I can see a menu in the screen with a flashlight. Took it apart and using a tester, found 8 leds not coming on. I did replace them individually and when I plugged the tv back in, the lights came on for 2 seconds and then all went out. I know I need new leds but not sure about the power board. I spent awhile checking out all components on the power board and everything looks fine with power getting to control board and leds. My question is, when the power board is disconnected from the leds, does it ramp up power, in my case to 265 volts dc, because it's trying to turn on the leds and then when they're on, it drops to a lower voltage? Is this normal or should the voltage be lower all the time? I'm afraid of putting new lights in and have them blown again and as well changing the power board. If that's the case changing both, I'll just use it for parts. Your thoughts?

Good morning, we appreciate you sharing this. We are drinking our morning coffee answering any and all questions for the DIY community. Great question and it sounds like you have sporadic behaviors within your electrical boards. Although you have already been busy performing surgery to this tv, we recommend replacing Power Board and Main Board. Reason being is again, one of these is causing sporadic power surges. Have you had a recent power outage in last 90 days…?…this can cause it. While replacing the two boards, follow it up by replacing the LED’s as you mentioned. Keep us posted.
