I was really good at playing football in high school. I remember not making the varsity team after spring training.. not because of my lack of skill but I fucked off finals week for a GIRL and tanked my GPA from a 3.2 down to a 1.4.. fast forward after high school. I married that same girl, bought a house, bought 2 cars and 2 years after being married she wanted to split and I lost her. I also chose to settle in the sales job that I got out of high school and didn’t go to collage at Chico State all because she couldn’t go. Some of the worst decisions I’ve ever made.

Nah tf fit x is wrong. Follow your dreams is cool and all but this man’s dreams are pure delusion. It’s like how every other kid in grade school says they wanna make the nba. This kid can’t make the d2 community college soccer team as a sophomore or junior. Do you know how insane you need to be to go pro? I’m not saying it’s completely impossible, but it more or less is when you’re 20 and not even d1

I feel like there should be a middle ground. If you have a dream, chase it. Chase it as much as you can. But you have to keep in mind that something like being a professional athlete also takes having elite genetics on top of hard work. So you have to be prepared for a plan b if your dream doesn’t work out.

I think this dude needs to network and think about how he can get seen by promoters and recruiters too. He’s 20. He still has time but not a lot. He needs to position himself up better for success fast Let’s say he is good, which he could be. He looks in shape and plays a lot goes to gym. If he’s good at a community college nobody will give a fuck. This dude also needs to think how will I get promoters to look at me. Or go to showcases or events. Going pro isn’t just being good. It’s also impressing people.
@moreld9831Ай бұрын
Interesting, but football (soccer) does not work like other sports in the US. European teams are not interested in Americans when it comes to football; they would rather choose a mediocre European player than a decent American. The best chance at going pro in the US is to play football at the D1 level and then declare for the MLS draft. After that, you can impress and then climb the ranks and eventually play for the top European teams. It sounds like he's already on a decent path to go D1, as good junior college players often transfer to D1 programs.
