K-7's incident report: "On 12/14/23 at approximately 9:25 p.m. I (Cpl. Arnold) was patrolling Interstate 40 eastbound near the 3-mile marker when I observed a silver Nissan Altima bearing R023220 out of Kansas, that was driving slow in the inside lane causing traffic to pass him on the right. The suspect vehicle also made an improper lane change when moving back to the outside lane of travel. I activated my blue lights to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle near the 4-mile marker, but the vehicle continued traveling at a slow speed. I activated my siren multiple times to attempt to get the driver’s attention to pull over. The suspect vehicle took exit 5 and pulled over at the end of the ramp. I made a contact with the driver (D’jieri McKithen 11/25/1996 a black male out of South Carolina) and I advised him who I was and the reason for the stop. I asked Mr. McKithen for his license, and he provided me with an ID out of South Carolina but stated that he had a Driver’s license. He also advised me that the vehicle was a rental car but did not have the rental car agreement. He stated that he would call someone and try to get it. I advised him I was going to run his ID and be back with him in a minute while he was trying to get a copy of the rental agreement. I ran his criminal history through Troop H dispatch, [REDACTED ##### REDACTED #####]. I go back up to the passenger side window and tell Mr. McKithen to turn the vehicle off and get out of the car. Mr. McKithen chose not to obey and put the vehicle into drive a nd began to flee the traffic stop. Mr. McKithen ran the intersection at Highway 59 and began driving back east on Interstate 40 at a high rate of speed. TFC. Brady Nuckels and I began to pursue Mr. McKithen as he continued to drive at a high rate of speed and very reckless passing vehicles along the shoulder. While Mr. McKithen was passing vehicles on the shoulder just past the eastbound scales at the 8- mile marker it appeared that he had lost control of his vehicle and was going to wreck out. Mr. McKithen attempted to get back on to the interstate and based on his manner of driving the pursuit needed to be ended. I positioned my vehicle in front of his car thinking Mr. McKithen would stop, but in doing so he struck the side of my State issued Dodge Durango causing disabling damage to my vehicle and his. Mr. McKithen’s vehicle went off the roadway and came to final rest in a wooded area. Mr. McKithen fled on foot and TFC. Brady Nuckels and his partner K9 Mattis were able to start a track. During the track clothing from Mr. McKithen was found throughout the thick wooded area. When the suspect was located, he was found to be hiding in a commercial sized dumpster and he was found to be only wearing his socks and his underwear. After Mr. McKithen was apprehended, he was complaining about having an asthma attack. Mr. McKithen was transported by EMS to Mercy Hospital in Ft. Smith to be checked out. In the trunk of his vehicle were three duffle bags containing approximately 113 lbs. of marijuana. Mr. McKithen was released from the hospital and TFC. Nuckels transported him to Crawford County. Mr. McKithen is charged with the following: IMPROPER LANE USEAGE POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DELIVER A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE VI >100lbs< 500lbs CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1ST DEGREE DAMAGE >5,000

Hi NST! Been watching a good while. I pray for the safety of out officers. They are doing an awesome job and I love watching each video. Glad to see the girls joining the boys to fight the ever growing criminal activity out there. I have a close family member that is fighting against horrific crimes and violence as well in Houston. The reason for the stop the trooper said was because the suv had to pass the purp from right lane to left lane because of the purp driving to slow in the left lane. How is this the reason for the stop if the trooper began his pursuit while the SUV in question was still on the entry on ramp to I-40? If you go back to 1:12 of the video the patrol car is already beginning to move. Secondly, at what point does the black SUV “move over” ( left lane, passing lane)??

Yeah that's why I always say the drug game is full of snitches and surely the police are acting on a tip of some sort and yeah they will make up a lie in order to have PC to stop the car which is always bullshit. I seen a New Mexico state trooper get killed doing this same bullshit not realizing some people are already on to the bullshit. The police call it a whisper traffic stop and if they can't find nothing wrong with the way you are driving, they will make something up.

A lot of states have left lane laws. If you are slower, then move to the right, don't just camp out in the left lane and make faster traffic pass you on the right. I live in CO, which has a left lane law, but nobody really pays attention to it. But it is a reason for the troopers to pull you over.

Honestly, the gaslighting that motorists/suspects subject Troopers to is irritating. They can’t just admit they made an error because they’re so busy planning how to escape the consequences, instead of assessing the situation and reasoning that maybe the Trooper will work with them. Van Buren, Arkansas scale house how well I know those guy's been in there many a time and had many a conversation. Anytime you go in there and your coming off that west coast with a reefer unit running just plan on it your going it for inspection guaranteed. They don't play games you best have your stuff together and be on time with it or you've had a bad day. Arkansas doesn't play games.

Looked to me like the silver car moved into the left lane to allow the SUV to merge in. Then, after the SUV sped by, silver car made lane change using turn signal. Also, I thought the bottom of the ramp WAS the safest place to pull over. Definitely a set up.

I see nothing wrong with where he’s pulled over. It’s not a blind corner, the car is well off the side of the road, it’s on an exit ramp so people are going slower. Where this took place is right through the mountains so technically there’s no such thing as a safe place to pull over.

@@TheBluecannoe22 Through the mountains? This is in the river valley, nothing but hills, you have to go up I49 or south on US 71 to hit mountains. There are plenty of safe places to pull over and that is absolutely not one of them. At least once a week there is an accident on that ramp and if he was really looking for a safe place he would have turned right then immediately left into the gas station across the street or the immediate right and stopped on the wide section of the street that parallels I40 there. Guy was looking for a place that would be easy to get back on the interstate but give him a chance to put distance between him and the trooper, thats why he chose the bottom of the ramp instead of the middle or top like most people do if they stop on the ramp.

Arkansas State Troopers occasionally work in other Troops for special drug or DWI enforcements, and such. It isn't that uncommon. As example, Brack Knuckles works Troop J, yet he was also in H.

Everyone always comments about these rental cars, number one, Arkansas knows from past Drug Mule incidents, of a rental car is a carrier, that said, MOST are not marked as a Rental, they typically aren't safe drivers, and Beg To Be Caught. Recently, a Semi trailer was found with 6 million of Coke, generally these are CARTEL BUSINESS members, drivers license from a different state, rental from another state, rented by someone else in a different state, they're networking CASH opportunities!

Always a job well done. My only criticism/observation is with multiple stacked cruisers running at those speeds is a prescription for disaster and it will happen.
