Pursuit of Clarity: Huong Dodinh on Painting

In our film, Huong Dodinh speaks about her longstanding interest in conveying ideas about silence, light, and pure feeling in her translucent, abstract paintings. Here, she discusses her process and the philosophical underpinnings of her practice, which stem from her first encounter with snow as a child. "It's a journey of going beyond oneself," Dodinh says of her approach to art making. "TRANSCENDENCE", her first-ever solo exhibition in the US, will be on view at our New York gallery from May 3 to Aug 16, 2024, bringing together paintings and works on paper she created between the 1960s and the present day.
