@KpxUrz5745 That is your HIERARCHICAL WORLD VIEW. Art and beauty is for everyone. The individual must decide for themselves. Dear me, I thought this conversation was over. No more of this, "We agree to differ."

I respect the openness and affability of Julian in explaining his inner workings. The mention of "what doesn't kill you mskes you stronger" indicates his concerns with mortality and legacy etc, and it immediately provided me with a humsnising connect with his personality. Very interesting. Thanks!

There could hardly be a bigger art fraud, unless it is someone like Damien Hirst, Eric Fischl, or Gerhard Richter. Whatever happened to actual talent???

Rather than being resentful, and showing your ignorance, why not educate yourself about contemporary art.

@@mattbrown-mb Educate? I have multiple degrees in this field, including Ivy League, have studied with some of the nation's top art historians, have spent thousands of hours in the best museums, have won countless fine art awards, have many works in important collections as well as a growing number of museums, have over 1000 good art books in my personal library, and believe that my knowledge in this field is extensive enough to dispel your fatuous little attack. As well as to know and appreciate artistic talent or lack thereof when I see it.

Schnabels art is on a whole other level. You can't understand it. It doesn't hit you. You fall on your knees and look away. Then you continue on about your little life and away you go.

@@KpxUrz5745 It's a matter of personal taste with Art. There are no all-encompassing pronouncements to be made. Me, I like his stuff. You don't, no biggie. It's not about educational degrees, it's about depth of feelng; it has to click for you. (Yes, I am an artist and studied Art History, no bfd).

This lecture is very interesting on many levels. I would have liked to have heard from the Diné panel member, Melissa Cody, first, and have her introduced first, and not have to witness her listening to what feel really dismissive comments, objectifications and “insights” into her culture. I’m not happy with this format as a basis of debate; I’m sure Agnes Martin would have been mindful of this too. I’m 18 mins in and she is yet to speak. Seeing the images is secondary to me, the panel dynamic is a whole other thing. Melissa Cody speaks at 25 minutes. As a living heritage keeper, I value her voice and work, much respect.

When man puts art on the moon and nobody cares. It's just a set of commodities by a brand name artist manufactured for an elite class of buyers who are in it for the money and use art as a mean of making more mney.
