I'36's incident report: "On Saturday, March 2, 2024, at approximately 3:58pm, I, Trooper Jonathan Arnold #356 of the Arkansas State Police, was southbound on US Highway 63. I turned right onto Hill Street and there was a maroon Ford Taurus that the driver was not wearing his seatbelt. I rolled my window down and instructed the driver to pull into the parking lot next to the intersection. The driver asked what for and I advised him that he was not wearing his seatbelt. The driver then turned north onto US Highway 63. I turned around and pulled out onto US Highway 63. I activated my lights and siren and the driver continued on US Highway 63 before turning left onto a county road. The driver then turned left onto Missouri Avenue. I notified Troop I Telecommunications Center that I was in pursuit of the vehicle. The vehicle then made a right onto Missouri Line Road. The driver traveled on Missouri Line Road, which is a gravel road, reaching speeds excess of 70 mph. Due to the conditions of the roadway and the dust, I was unable to maintain visual of the vehicle in a safe manner. I then notified Troop I Telecommunications Center that I was terminating the pursuit. After speaking with Chief Jamie Turnbough of Mammoth Springs Police Department, it was determined that the suspect was Michael Smith DOB 1/11/1981 and an affidavit of the charges will be filed at a later date."

Simple case of exploit your strengths, and exploit the weaknesses of your opponent. The man knew his Taurus was great for that ultra crappy road, and that it would beat the absolute piss out of that charger. Im thinking the officer likely got tired of being thrown around like that while beating the hell out his cruiser.

SHO sleeper?? lol It goes to show that if you put the right driver with the right car, they'll become unstoppable. This right here is a sure sign of an experienced driver. He took that road for a reason, as y'all just saw. V6 engine, front wheel drive and soft suspension on gravel, the Trooper didn't stand a chance. That Ford was designed and built during an era that looked like this area everywhere you went. Built tough enough that even the police used them back then. Just before the Crown Vics took over. The driver probably knew the road by heart and that's a huge factor as well. 30 to 40 years ago, this was a common occurrence. The locals know the area better than the lawman does and sometimes get away. Sometimes, a lawman somewhere knows the locals well enough to identify them by what they drive or by how they drive. In the end, karma always finds a way to catch up to those who THOUGHT they got away. The only thing they actually manage to accomplish is prolonging their misery.
@cvpi0539

The Taurses in that era were not good police cars. I been in a few. They could get up to speed quicker than a box body Vic, but that's about it. They didn't hold up well.

@@cvpi0539 A friend of mine had one that would suddenly STINK out of nowhere. It was so foul, you could hardly breathe. He was told it was the catalytic converter, so he had a full new exhaust put on. Still did it. I first thought it was my friend having a bad case of rotten farts and he was just blaming the car, like blaming the dog. lol Nope!! It did it when I was driving it and I was alone. We never did find out what caused it, but he was sure glad to get rid of it. lol

Again just because I don't feel like typing it all out, I'll just copy and paste my last reply😂 Just buy what you commented I'm going to assume that you have absolutely no law enforcement experience, and for that matter probably very little life experience either. The reason they will pull you over for a seatbelt violation is because number one most criminals aren't very smart. And they commit minor infractions which is always what brings them to the attention of law enforcement. And in 99% of the cases where it ends up in a pursuit, the person being pursued is running for a reason. A lot of times it's because of drugs or weapons or they know they have warrants. This is what's called proactive policing, and it's the kind of law enforcement that we need more of to get criminals off the streets. Unfortunately the court systems way too lenient and they let him right back out. But I guarantee if most of these idiots didn't do stupid things they wouldn't catch the attention of law enforcement, and then they wouldn't have to run😂

Dirt roads seem to be the Achilles heel of ASP. they seem to build they're cars for speed not offroading. (By offroading i mean dirt roads) Most videos i see of people escaping ASP are almost always on Dirt roads. On paved roads ASP will run 150 no problem but on these dirt roads they can't do that.

In many states, roads if this kind have no outlet, and eventually end..or empty out onto a paved road. Why wasn't another unit up ahead notified to block off the 10-37 driver in that direction and create a hopeful apprehension. In any case, his identity known, eventually will result in his arrest and arraignment.

I know what video you are talking about, where do you get the police screwed up? I suspect that youtube blocked comments because the tenant of the apartment set the victim up, using the police. Police responded to a reported break in. The guy was found to have a gun in his jacket where his hands were and tried to hide when police gave commands. Totally f8cked situation but not a police f8ck up.
