Svami details how our aachaaryaas have done bhaagavathaa kainkaryam.
A prapannan should make sure he stands in the purushaartha kaashtai - i.e he should do the kainkaryam that has been asked for and not only the kainkaryam he likes to do.
Pundarikaakshar, sishya of Nathamuni was asked to escort devigal of Nathamuni to her parent's house. There he was served pazhaiya saaadam separately in the muttham by Vangipuraththu Aachi. But not heeding this mistreatment, he accepted the prasadam with gratitude came back happily. Nathamuni knew this through his yoga drshti and so asked him how he was treated there. By his gracious behaviour there, he saved Sri Nathamuni's name (as well as his own). Nathamuni said, namma uyyakondeer nee; giving the name Uyyakondar. [ some may get a doubt if one can eat pazhaiya saadam (yesterday's saadam). It wont have dosham if we add some nalla yennai along with water to it. This is saa theertham and can be consumed next day without paryushath dosham. Likewise, yesterday's thoduttha pushpam can be offered, and water which has been stored with bhoo sammandham can be consumed].
In yatiraja saptati Svami Desikan describes, hari bhaktha daasya rasikaa: (those who have rasikaa in hari bhaktha daasyam i.e. bhaagavathaas) who are holding on to thiruvadi thaamarai of sribhaashyakaarar, which is described as pattanam (nagaram where people with jnaanam reside - and paapams of everyone seeing them goes away, and nal jnaanam comes to extend from bhagavath kainkaryam to bhaagavatha kainkaryam), parasparam kriya vikriyaarha dashayaa samindhathe (kriyai for one another, ie bhaagavatha kainkaryams for one another).
Kidaambi aachaan did madapalli kainkaryam for Sribhaashyakaarar. Svami Desikan was averse to wealth/fame and instead sold himself to bhaagavathaas (vaishnava jane krayaneeya dasaam praapta:).
