As I child, I always wanted to be a knight. As an adult, I started to study the art of making medieval armour and made it for large dolls. Never for myself (also, I am assigned female). Now I am trying to join a costuming group (Star Wars) and at that point I became confident enough to make a suit of armour for myself. I will be doing it in a male form (well, more or less. The armour does the heavy lifting there.). Maybe that much time had to pass (I am now in my 40ies) before I dared to do that. I would never have done that in my youth, but now I am okay with that. Also, I live in a somewhat strange relationship. My husband confessed that he is very happy that I share his interests and am totally uninterested in makeup and dresses (things, which are stereotypical considered "female"). I always felt very uneasy about that, I have noticed it myself (my mum always wanted me to turn into a "pretty girl". I always refused that, was much more interested in stuff like Lego, railway, motorcycles - oh, and horses. E.g. I was not allowed to take a motorcycle license. Got to know my then-boyfriend - who showed up to our second date in full gear on his motorcycle. My parents drove me there - they were shocked. I fell even more in love with him.). Nowadays, I consider myself to be something in-between male and female. I am perfectly fine with that, and my husband accepts me the way I am. For which I am so glad. Okay, sorry for the long story.

this video is so helpful to me and I'm so grateful to find that there are genderqueer drag people out there. I've been thinking about getting into drag but I've been very stuck on whether I want to be a king or queen bc i am genderqueer and I like being feminine sometimes and masculine other times. it's nice to know that I can make it whatever I want it to be without having to tie myself to a binary side.
