I got a 30ft flagpole. Hose clamps work great to keep sections from sliding with a 2M ant and for bonding. Easy install, alone, even for an old guy. Lots of antenna possibilities with guys/halyards. Ham Rule: "If your antenna stayed up last winter, it wasn't big enough"!

A quick note about the some MFJ push up poles. Many, like the MFJ1906, are fibreglass. The only way to make those antennas in their own right is to put a conductive strip or wire from the base to the top. Oh, a little reminder, Dave - Mt St Helens is in SW Washington. 73 - N1ACW ..

Dave get that lamp behind you. It looks as though your house is about to capsize.😂

Topics and presentation are getting better, more interesting, and more engaging as time goes on. It's definitely not me improving. It's you, Dave. Here's to that next significant digit. It's only a matter of time. Long life. Good health. K2KQU

I’ve been using a vertical with an auto tuner at the base. So far, extremely promising.

Interesting. How long is the wire element and which bands do you use it for?
@kellypaws

@@erpece Currently 8.5 metres. It has operated extremely well on 40 and higher. I am planning to extend the element 12 metres, but it's currently too windy to risk that, even with guying. So far, it has been the 'fuss free' multi band antenna that actually gets 59 real reports.

I am looking to travel with my RV and my ham radio. I have been thinking about displaying my callsign on my RV, but no one would know how to contact me. Was wondering if my callsign and a frequency I am monitoring would be the best for other hams to contact me. If this is a good idea, what 2 meter frequency would be a good one to display and monitor? Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions. JC Willette KJ7SLF

146.52 is the 2 meter call/monitor frequency.
