The closing minute and a half of the brilliantly quirky feel-good ABC dramedy, Pushing Daisies-- cancelled before its time and wrapped up hastily in post-production (better than no resolution whatsoever, I suppose).

You know, most people would react poorly to their favourite shows trying to tie everything up in just two minutes, thinking that the writers gave up and didn't care. Pushing Daisies, being the magical story that it is, rushed most of the unfinished plot threads in two minutes, but not because they didn't care: quite the contrary, it's because they did, and wanted to give their fans the promise that, no matter the future of the series, their beloved character's futures would be bright as a field of daisies. That's their Cour du Cours. Not a farewell, but rather an expresed hope for us to see each other again.

I always figured Neds dad left because like Ned, he could bring people back to life. Ned probably died as a little kid, dad brought him back, but figured he couldn't be around him. Due to accidental death touch. Or that perhaps Ned would die, dad would bring him back and his death would cancel out his abilities. Something along those lines.

That's a great idea except if Ned's dad had actually touched him and brought him back to life while Ned was a child he would never have grew into a man.

The show's obviously not finished. Ned hasn't reconciled with his father yet. Also, there's that opportunity wasted seeing Vivian and Lily's reaction and their damn lot of questions... sadly, the show was cancelled :/

The finest television show of our generation. It's one of the few times in my life I have ever felt a genuine sense of excitement at watching a work of art unfold. ABC don't only SUCK for cancelling this, they are cultural vandals. I am fortunate I am one of the few people in Australia to see this. The Nein network had both series in the can but never showed either. Thank GOD for DVDs.

I actually like this show and it was the only show I would watch religiously out of the hundreds of shows that was on the air at that time. I remember waiting for it to come on every weekend just so I can watch what happens next. Then it was canceled. WTF?

Criminal, the way they forced Pushing Daisies to wrap up an virtually no notice. Still, if it had to come to a hasty and rapid conclusion, I feel like the writers did the absolute best they could under the circumstances. This show was truly art.

I cried when this aired. Most amazing series ever, visually, emotionally, and creatively. It was hasty, but also very well-done. I love the full-circle-ness of endings and beginnings, how life and death are a cycle (esp on this show haha), and it was nice of the writers to leave their ending on a note of hope :)

Yeah he had planned at least 6 seasons....but sadly he got news halfway through season2 it was cancelled. It was too early for it's time in it's style. If it came out now it prob would be more popular like a Netflix series

I hate this ending so much, we deserved to see Cod hugging Penny, Lily and Vivian's reaction and questions, Olive truly falling in love and finding happiness within herself, Ned reconnecting with his dad, Chuck feeling happy having no need to hide, and to me the perfect ending would be Ned finding a way to break his curse, so the show could end with one of TV's best couple kissing! But they had to fit the ending into two minutes (I wished they at least did a 14th episode about this ending). This show deserved at least two more seasons...

I agree the show deserved better but the worst ending ever would have been if the show had ended on a cliffhanger that would never be resolved due to cancellation. Instead I think they tried to provide the conclusions of all the plot arcs they would have shown in future seasons. At least it was a truncated sort of conclusion to the series.

This scene always tears me up. ;( Partially because I am sad that the show is over, but that's just a small part. More than anything, it is because it was a wonderful (albeit rushed, and far too brief) way to wrap up all the loose ends in a series that, to me, is nothing shy of a work of art. The world is cruel to the new and the different, sometimes. But it makes me happy that, for a short while, this wonderful series brightened all our dim little lives.

I "imagined" an ending for my wife and me. Digby the dog accidentally brushes against Ned and does not die. Ned realizes that after some period of time "Newed Life" becomes permanent. Digby had been alive (and not aging) for over 20 years. Somewhere in the time it became permanent. Now Ned and Chuck have to wait .., but for how long? Do they dare test it?

Série absolutamente fantástica. Com um roteiro dos mais originais, uma fotografia encantadora, atores em total sintonia. Muito triste ter acabado dessa forma. Que mundo injusto. Espero que arrumem um jeito de finalizá-la de alguma maneira, pode ser um livro, ou a série de quadrinhos que Bryan Fuller propôs, qualquer coisa. Pushing Daisies merece uma nova chance.

@Meowmixer54 The TV show is cancelled, but the comic, which is coming out early this year, will mark as "Season 3" Bryan Fuller will write the first issue, and be the head writer, and the show's writers will write the rest. There are even some talks of doing this interactive thing where, while reading the comic, you can have original new music by show's composer. Keeping the musical part of the show. The entire, if not most, cast will be back to sing a few songs.
